This is a very cool looking propane flame thrower. It took me a little bit to attach the 1 pound canister and I has to push it in pretty hard. The adjustment knob on top had to be screwed in and out several times to kind of loosen it up. The valve works well and shuts off good. It opens up abut half way ad you can hear the propane coming out before you light it with the trigger. It was difficult to light in the wind at first, but after a few lights I was able to do easily. I was going to go 4 stars but just in coolness factor adds another star! Comes nicely packaged and would make an awesome gift. It even has a fake rear site. It was much easier to start a fire in the pit than using a lighter in the wind. Lastly the box says 1800F but the ad says 4000. Either way it is very hot. It is extremely portable with the 1 lb tank not so much with a 20lb tank unless you get a backpack.

I got this torch gun to start our backyard fires this summer, unfortunately it has been way to windy and way to dry this spring to try lighting a fire with it. I did hook up a Colman Propane tank to it and test it out and can confirm this torch is not going to have any problem starting our fires this season and for years to come. The unit is well made, yes, the gun is plastic but don’t feel cheap and feels very solid. The torch end is all metal and the starter reliably started the flame time and time again. I can see doing more fires in the back yard this year as my reason for not wanting to was getting it started. I can also see using this to burn off some weeds around the yard as an added bonus.

Have not gotten to test with propane yet, but so far the device seems to be great and looks good just like the pictures only complaint is the plastic feels a little cheap, but other then that looks like it will work correctly.

This is NOT a flame thrower! But, it is a powerful blow torch! Looks very cool - sci-fi rifle type. It is made mostly of plastic, but the end of the barrel is metal. This is where the gas/propane flows out and the sparker is.The instructions are on the box, and no where else. Important to read them as I was having problems getting it to light until I read that you need to have the propane/gas flow very low to ignite. After that, bam! I was off to the races! It is easy to hook up the propane/gas and the box says which types of container will work and which require an adapter (not included). The flames are stunning! It can go easy or full jet. I don't know if it can actually do 800,000 as advertised, but it will do most jobs easily. After using it on high for a while (to get the photos) the propane cannister got really, really cold. The metal had condensation- almost ice - on the outside and is sounded like the propane liquified inside the cannister. I'm not sure if that was side-effect or a defect.
