This is my favorite net for baseball practice. I have both a pop up/ instant net and the tube-style based one that breaks down into several pieces. The folding mechanism on this one is much easier than the ones that breakdown completely. You can keep the net on as well. Well worth extra money.

We got this after our other powernet broke after years of use. I decided to try this one with the somewhat easier set up- the base is all one piece that folds. This one seems slightly sturdier and sets up in about the same amount of time- the base is faster but there's lots more velcro on the bottom that takes longer. Still under 2 minutes for 1 person. The only thing is that it doesn't fold up quite as compactly and so the collapsed net and carry case do take up more space than the other one.We have been happy with this purchase so far. It seems to be a quality net, while still being less money than other top name brands. The choice of colors was great too- we went with the blue this time and it looks quite nice.

So far the net has held up well to hitting drills. I even use it in place of a first baseman for groundball drills. The pocket is quite big and the balls don't bounce out of them. It dissipates energy well so it doesn't need to be held down by weights however, on a very gusty day this will blow over so you will need some sandbags or something heavy. The kit comes with some spikes to hold the base legs into the ground but those don't work very well, you really need something heavy. The instructions for putting the net together - i don't use them. I find it easier to do it another way rather than the recommended way but that's up to your preference. Setup is quick. With a partner it should take you about 2 minutes. I think the price is appropriate

As a 6' 240lb adult wood bat league player, I was looking for a net that I could set up at home easily and have tee practice. I am a heavy hitter and wanted to make sure that the net would last and wasn't just built for kids. I have been very impressed with the PowerNet! I'm able to set up the net in the back yard, hit two buckets of balls, and have it back in its carry bag in the house within a half hour! Exactly what I wanted. The fiberglass rods are extremely sturdy and the net seems well made. I've had heavier duty nets in the past, but the catching basket on this one is much larger which lets it absorb more energy. The one thing I found is that after maybe 10 balls are sitting in it, line drives into the catching area turn it net into more of a trampoline. Not a fault of the net, just need to be aware and not let a bunch of the balls sit in the bottom. The 8' is a perfect size for an adult and gives plenty of room for moving the tee around. I never felt like I was going to pop one over it. The base is also very sturdy. It's awesome not having to worry about the net moving around or being able to knock it over. I'm able to shift the feet with a real hard hit, but it's perfect. For an adult, this net pairs perfectly with the Jugs Pro weighted base tee. Very happy with my setup and hope it goes the distance. As long as it lasts past a season, I'd be replacing it if anything bad happens to it. Thanks PowerNet.

Great net. Sturdy. Easy to assemble. Bigger than the 7x7 nets out there which is a plus. Lightweight so it's easy to carry. Wish the carry bag was just slightly bigger as it can be a bit of a squeeze putting the bottom frame in. I tried keeping the disassembled poles in the side sleeves to lower setup time but they just get so entangled in the net that it ends up taking more time to put together than keeping poles completely separate. Pleased with construction and makes a great warmup batting "cage" for my men's slow pitch softball team. We also use the net as a phantom 1st or 2nd baseman for the outfielders to throw to when shagging balls.

The 8x8 PowerNet XLP Pro Net has been great to use. The product was packaged well and was very easy to setup. I leave the net attached to the main bottom frame and just roll it up and it all fits easily into the storage bag. To set it back up for use takes only a minute or two which is great. With its larger size I have no concerns with balls not being contained and its sturdy enough for adults hitting weighted training balls into it without moving. The set does include two ground stakes to secure the net if you are concerned with it getting knocked over but I found they are not absolutely necessary and the net stays in place well without using them.Overall I am very satisfied with the purchase and it will be a great training tool for batting.

Time will tell how long this net will last, but it's great so far. The metal base is very sturdy and I love how it just folds open snaps into place. This base design is much quicker than the other models I have tried that use poles that must be assembled. The fiberglass upright poles are very strong and thicker than I expected. I have gotten a couple of small fiberglass splinters from letting them slide through my hands during assembly. I learned my lesson and have had no issues since. The net appears to be plenty durable and I only get the occasional ball that bounces back. The Velcro used to attach the net to the metal base is a bit overkill. Some nets use a couple of small Velcro attach points, this one runs nearly the whole length of the frame. The carry bag has nice long straps for shoulder carry. It could use a couple of extra inches in length to make it easier to fit the poles and folded framework inside. With some practice it gets easier. Overall, it's a great net that takes just a few minutes to set up. It's definitely worth the extra $30 as compared to many of the 7' x 7' models on the market. I highly recommend!

Upon opening the box, I was very happy to see how this product was put together. It has a very nice base where the poles insert. The poles themselves are very heavy, like tent poles that fit together, but heavier gauge. The net is made of thick threads made to withstand a lot of abuse. It took my 11 year old son 2 minutes to set it up the very first time out of the shipping box. The carrying case is spacious. Everything fits nicely. The PowerNet XLP Pro is huge. It did what I had hoped & more. It absorbed all 40 baseballs that my son hit the first day he used it. He didn't have to use the stakes that came with the net to secure it down. The base is wide enough & the net is heavy enough to keep the net from falling over. The bottom of the net has Velcro that wraps around the base to keep balls from going under the net. If you're thinking about using this net indoors or in your basement or garage, be sure you have ceilings greater than 8' as the base of the net will make the overall profile higher than 8 feet. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase.
