I bought a set for $16 and that made the old Craftsman jointer I purchased run like new. Then I saw the priced dropped to $12 so I bought two more sets. I'm amazed at how cheaply I can swap the blades on my jointer and that makes me feel better about not spending a bunch more for a carbide insert model.

I bought these Powertec 6" jointer blades to replace some much more expensive name brand blades for my old Yorkcraft jointer (which is a great machine). I had to send the expensive blades out twice to be resharpened after getting nicks. The cost of these new Powertec blades were half the price of getting the name brand blades sharpened, so I thought I would give them a try. I have been using them for almost a year now and have run (slightly) knotty pine, cherry, oak and poplar over these blades. By not taking off too much, a slow steady feed rate and light pressure, these blades work great. I liked them so much I got a second set as a backup. If I do get any nicks in the future or they dull too much, I will just order another set rather than resharpen. I do use the old, nicked name brand blades as scrapers for glue removal, etc. I will not hesitate to buy more Powertec blades in the future. I also have the Powertec 1 micron dust collector bag and a Powertec feather board and those work great as well.

These are the correct size as advertised, and they come sharp. All as expected.Pro tip. Buy two or three sets, then intermingle the blades among sets as you sharpen them to avoid carrying wear patterns forward within a group. You can buy three of these sets and still be much less expensive than one carbide tip set, but yes, there is down time swapping blades more often.

Perfect fit for my 6" craftsman 103.20620 jointer.Only gave it 4 stars because they were about 3-5 thousands out of straight. Good enough for me though. I would buy again.

I used these Powertec Jointer Knives for My Ridgid JP0610 and what a difference they have made. I purchased my jointer used and wasn't getting very good results, so I decided to clean the cast iron as well as all the blades. Upon further evaluation, I noticed no amount of sharpening was going to fix the knives. So I purchased these. In addition to cleaning the Ridgid Jointer and performing some maintenance, I used the Rockler Magnetic Jointer Pal to help install these blades. Once I verified the knives were properly installed, I did a few test and the knives did what they are suppose to do. I can't speak to longevity as that depends on how often you're using the knives but I can say they arrived in perfect condition, were well packaged so they wouldn't get damaged during shipping and once installed on the few test pieces I tried, worked very well.
