I tried one on a horse, it slid down oast his hoof and when I was un doing the velcro.the tab ripped right off!! Not tough enough h for horse use.

I have had them on my horse for 3 weeks and the metal stays are starting to come through the mesh on the outside on 2 of them. I think this is because the stays don't go all the way down to the end of the boot like other more expensive brands. I may try to reinforce the outside pocket to keep them in. We will have flies here in Texas until October and I'm not sure they will make it that long!

It seems like in fly season you can never have enough anti-fly devices, including fly boots. These are very solid and sturdy, fairly adjustable due to the Velcro-style closures, and do a good job. There's not much more to know.Note: I know folks that drape fly boots over a pipe corral for the night and find them trodden and soiled in a stall the next morning. Of course, if it is in reach of a horse it can become a toy. BUT because of the hook-and-loop closure it is super simple to wrap and *close* over a pipe corral pole out of reach and they are much less likely to fall down. Or keep all four together wrapped in a single roll in a tack shed.

they go on esay and protect from heel flies. Might even protect from snakebite.
