Luckily I tested it before I mounted it to my overland rig. Leaked from the moment I put water in it and the seal exploded the moment I charged it with air.

I like to camp in dispersed camping areas away from campgrounds with running water and showers. However, I'm always dirty and sweaty after a day of hiking or adventuring so I really need some way of washing off in the late afternoon or evening. This rooftop water tank works great for this. It provides 5.5 gallons of hot water after sitting out in the sun all day. The water temp can really heat up as hot as the hot water tap at home. This is very nice, but it can actually get too hot to use straight out of the tank. For this reason I really wish there was a way to add cold water to this mix. Perhaps a 5 gallon bucket of cold water that could be pumped up to the roof and mixed with the hot water as it comes out of the tank? The manufacturer claims the water temp can reach 140° which is what many water heaters are set to for the max temp. This is way too hot to shower with unless mixed with cold water. Another plus to having a small pump to mix in cold water would be that this could increase the amount of warm water to double or more. 10 gallons of warm water would allow for a longer and more thorough shower. I haven't figured out a good way to do this yet, but I'm sure there's a way involving an inexpensive battery powered shower pump that is designed to draw water out of a 5 gallon bucket. The water tank itself seems well built and the pressurization feature is great. The manufacture claims 15-30psi for the water pressure. This is not especially high as even my RV which is relatively low pressure is still 45psi. However, 25-30psi is still enough for a decent shower or for washing hands or bikes or dogs. Again, the main thing is water temperature control.Overall this is a great way to have a good amount of hot water available at the end of every day without having to haul propane around. This also makes it a good thing to have installed on a vehicle in case of emergency situations where propane might not be available for days or weeks. While everyone else in the zombie apocalypse is dirty and stinky, those who have installed this water tank will stay clean.I haven't permanently installed this yet but am thinking I may put it in the bed of my truck instead of the roof. Since it is pressurized it will still work and it won't impact my gas mileage by interfering with the airflow over the vehicle.Overall this is a nice pressurized water tank that allows for different installations and uses. If I figure out an elegant way to mix in cold water I'll come back and update this review.

This is probably the simplest way to add an outdoor shower to your rig without having to get propane involved or get an electric tankless heater etc.The things to highlight are you don't need those items I discussed above or a pressure tank since it's installed higher than where the water is being released.Gravity and the sun do the majority of the work for you with this setup. Gravity gives you enough pressure to rinse off with ease and the sun heats the water up to a comfortable temperature. At 5 gallons this gives you more than enough for a couple showers between fill ups if you are cautious about it.It comes with all the hardware necessary for installation but the difficulty of the installation will depend largely on your rig and how you want to set it up. Since it's not a one size fit all every job will be a custom one.A decent buy if your handy.Until We Meet Again-Off the Grid Ken
