You will need to have experience with a wool pad on a rotary, will pack a good amount of cutting power of the price point not bad ( if medium oxidation) . I’m a pro with a rotary ( I highly suggest if your new / DYI person *go slow 2’x2’ do the areas that are hidden most until you get the feel for it ( strongly recommend doing a few junk boats before you attempt anything like this ( I have 20 years experience with a rotary) . It will take off the medium oxidation and you will need to polish and was it after with a better quality polish and wax . I recommend a different brand for polish and if your DyI new get a duel action orbital that has a good long throw! When you use a duel action/ or weighted orbital that will minimize any what’s known as holograms or swirls . ( keep in mind) slow and steady wins the race 2x2 or 2x4’ lengths over laps ( prep is key ! Wash your boat before next step polish . Lots of utube . Florida you need extra heavy cut if you pass your finger over the paint and there is any sign of chalk!) if not getting to fresh gel coat you will just be making it worse and waxing over oxidation and it will not have the mirror you want ! , watch some utube videos, look they are to sell you there crap . In Florida you will want a water based Extra heavy cut and a good 3m white wool pad to get the oxidation off. You might need to do it 2 times usually 2 god slow 3500 rpm’s after you do the edges until you see it shining ( then polish with a great polish 3M EXAC or finesse ll , or Maguires flagship wax is my favorite has a little bit of polish in the wax if you don’t have a mess of swirling that will do the trick. On a polish pad or Finnish pad , sure hold makes. Great pads , I used them all ! They all will look like a skinned cat at first ( 3m white wool last longer then other wool I have used,) and sure hold pads , I just like those to pads a lot better then the rest it’s just as important to use the rt pad as the best wax and polish hope this helps . I’m ok with this super cut compound * in Florida it’s hot as hell on the water and you will have to find shade for best results! Water based is the nice part about this you sprayed the wool a few prays on top of the wax or pad it will be fine to run 2’x4’ sections over lapping it 1/2 way pass it up down and then side to side . You will find the sweet spots remaining slowly moving your machine 3500 rpm or 1 to 2 on your diel . Your going ti want to hurry just take your time get the tunes up and you will be glad you got the oxidation off ! Then polish it and ex it to a mirror! As seen here

bottom done and back started. can see the difference in what has been completed. used Harbor Freight polisher which was a lot more reasonable than Makita which is recommended by detailers and only $99 for 7 inch 12 amp polisher. this compound leaves it looking great. cant wait to apply the wax!!

Boat was very oxidized and looked like milk, after two buff runs with heavy wool 7 inch pad it looks like brand new, amazing product that is worth every penny .

I recently purchased this boat that hadn't been touched in years. It had lots of oxidation from sitting in a slip. I was able to bring the shine back and there was many rough scratches along with a 8' long 1" wide one ( I didn't get any pics before I started) that I was able to get out. I used a cheap 45$ polisher from Harbor Freight and also some 2,000 grit sanding disks along with the cutting compound to get the worst of the worst out. It turned out 10xs better then I thought it would.
