This product is sturdy and well made but super tiny. Difficult for one tiny finch to enter. Certainly not a pair.

Very cute and my finches warmed up to them very quickly. The hole to the entrance was a bit small for them though (and I'm sure it was intended for the birds to size themselves), so I had to rip off a few of the woven baskets to make them appropriate size. Other than that no complaints!

Our finches love these nests. We put in small cotton balls, lint from the dryer, and /or shredded paper (not newspaper). They have tons of fun building their nests and stuffing them to the point at times all you see is one or two little red beaks. The males are really the nest builders and dont need any help getting the nests just right. The females need alittle help so we put in some cotton balls and lint and then they are perfectly happy. Our males and females are in separate cages. When it is time to let them breed and we combine the cages these nest are amazing. They can have ,( and weve seen this)five babies in these tiny nests and they dont leave the nest until they are full sized finches. It always amazes me when I see 5 or 6 finches fly out of one nest. These are not large nests and thats the way finches like it. The nests that are made out of bamboo they just dont like and that seems to be all that are in alot of pet stores. I have a mating pair of Zebra Finches, who have just laid their first clutch of 6 eggs in this nest. It's cozy and seems to make them feel secure when inside. The babies have all hatched, and though the nest is a bit crowded (and will get worse as they grow), the parents seems to be happy with the nest. I plan to purchase more of these, as I always replace the nest after about 6 months of use (they tend to perch on top of it and leave droppings all over it, and it's impossible to clean).Highly recommended for very small birds, like Finches. I wouldn't recommend for anything larger, as the nest is rather small. I believe these come in different sizes, so if you want a well-constructed nest, I'd search on this product name and see what's available.
