This handle did not match my door very well even though it looked the same. Very hard to tell from the pictures, even though these are very detailed. I had to use one of the old pieces to get it to work for my door, which was okay - the part I needed wasn't the broken one. Also had to bend the tongue and grind down the end catch. Works well now. All that was easy enough to do and the part was cheap, but it took a little time. I am not sure what you could do differently to avoid all that, except buy a new screen door.

Merp on that one, not so easy to install amd the switch broke while trying to do it 😂Nonetheless, we got it installed and got it to work. Better than the broken one we’d had on.

The setback to install it was a bit of a guessing game. It works well.

The latch itself is metal but the mechanism holding it is just plastic that is supposed to magically slide on to a hole in the metal. Spoiler, it does not. Other handles purposely drill a hole in the button so you can secure the latch with a screw and have 0 doubts it’s attached. This one does not let you do that. On top of that, the plastic rails for the button itself are thin cheap and brittle. They broke on the way. Terrible product.

Good price for a simple item, except that the slider holding the metal latch was hard to put in and the instructions didn't help at all. I ended up breaking one side of the slider rail because the plastic is way to thin and frail.

My current screen door's latch had a small plastic piece break, and I was thinking that it's such a flimsy thing. I found this latch on Amazon and it looked close enough to the one I currently have, for the price I thought even if it breaks in a year, it's OK. I am generally good at DIY things, a mesh screen door latch replacement seemed easy enough. But boy was I wrong. Everything about this product is absolutely horrible. The instructions provided are worthless. The manufacturer should save the burden and the instruction paper. After some fiddling I figured out how to put this latch in place. But actually doing it is another story. It is close to impossible to put it in place without breaking the thin plastic strips which are crucial to its functioning or poking a hole in your mesh screen. And if for any reason you have to remove it once installed, you simply cannot. I had to break the thin strips to remove this monstrosity. At this point I started comparing with the current one I had, and even though they look very similar, my current one had a screw to install/remove the latch, while this one relied on all stars to be in the right position and your luck to install the latch. Such an amazingly simple design alteration of having a screw for the latch makes it so much easier to install/remove. I really wish the prime line manufacturers make their product with more user friendliness in mind.I finally went ahead with my current latch itself, and just super glued the broken plastic piece.

Very cheap plastic and easy to break. Inserting the latch into the handle and thumb lever is a pain. The thumb latch has a center post that lines up with the hole on the latch where it’s supposed to lock into. Once you get it in and screw it all together it always pops out of place forcing you to once again take it apart and repeat. Happened three times before the center post on the thumb latch just broke off. Very cheap and a pain in the butt to install

Was a perfect fit to replace my existing screen door handle. It took a little bit of trial and error to get the latch piece on to stay but once assembled, it is great. Hope it lasts.

Replaced broken latch on a sliding screen door. Almost impossible to find an exact fit. Not enough dimensions given This was the 3rd one that I ordered. None of them were an exact fit. This one was the closest fit. I had to cut off a 1/4 inch and re-bend the latch. Fortunately I am handy enough and had the tools to redo the latch.
