These SP 9617 Handyman single loop closed extension springs are constructed of durable spring steel, and they come finished in a beautiful, corrosive-resistant, nickel-plated finish. Springs like these are used for a variety of household and professional applications, and they feature a generous deflection length of 0.82 inch. These springs are easy to install and are used by many. The outside diameters, lengths and gauge thicknesses vary between each of these springs, while their dependability does not. Use these springs for repairs around the house, in the office, vehicle, garage and in many other applications.

This extension spring is constructed from .105 gauge heat tempered steel spring wire. It features an outside diameter of 3/4 In. and a length of 2-5/8 In. Used for a variety of household applications.

I have used Handyman springs for all of my random projects the last few years because that is what is stocked in my local hardware store. I'm currently refurbishing a pull-out couch that requires 42 of these SP 9617's, far more than what the local store had in stock. I matched the size I needed at the store and bought what they had and ordered the remaining from Amazon. Each spring that came from amazon was completely unusable. They were packaged in the correct 9617 package, but none of them should have passed Handyman's typical quality check. For this spring, the hooks are supposed to go in the same direction, what arrived to me were a bunch of springs that had hooks at every possible angle but straight, so none could be used in the project. Had to return them all and now am buying 2 packages twice a week when they restock at the hardware store until completed.
