Worked for a few seconds. Turned on once (test) and then when I got to the grass and pulled the handle, nothing...didn't even cut 1 blade of grass...

A colleague brought in an electric lawn mower that no longer did its thing. We troubleshot it and determined that the bridge rectifier was fried.I swapped this in and it works like new. (It wasn't the mower's fault that the diode died -- just terrible circuit design that happened to use this part as its central component. Once it hit a rock, it shorted 120V through the diode and let the magic smoke out.)TL;DR: Evil mower ate its diode. Plugged new one in. Evil motor hasn't eaten it yet. Poor diode has dangerous life.
