Very stable. Easy to set. Heavier than most higher end sticks, but feel much more stable for a bigger guy like myself (250lbs). The cam lock is much better than fumbling with straps.

These things are great for the money. I’m a newer hunter and got into using a tree saddle. These are perfect value for the money. They’re on the heavy side so if you have to walk far you may want to go with something lighter. But for me as an entry point they have been perfect over the past few years.

These sticks bought 5/23 are a much quality than years past. This is my forth set I have bought in the last ten plus years and the fit of parts are much better, especially the step assembly to the stick. In years past that fit was not very good and no matter how you tightened them they would rock a bit from side to side. On this set the fit was so tight I had to lightly sand the paint at the connection to fit, to me that’s a good thing.Another tip is to tap in an Allen wrench into the step bolt holes to adjust, the holes was a tight fit.I have had a lot of sticks and these are by far the quietest and easiest sticks to use, I just wish they were sold in a five or six pack.I have had them in the past that the tube to step bracket was not tight, I would disassemble them and put Gorilla Steel Epoxy on the bracket where it touches the tube and let that cure. Done properly it will provide a tight fit.

Do not waste your time on these sticks. They arrived with the paint chipped and the rope cleats lose. Easy fix. Upon further inspection, i realized these are still the recalled sticks and they failed on the first trip out, causing me to fall 12 feet from a tree. Two of the top steps came lose while simply going up and down the tree, causing my foot to slip and the steps to kick out. One of the rope cleats would barely hold the rope snug, even after having the hitch knot which muddy recommended doing as a safety precaution. These should not be sold until the new updated versions are in stock. They are dangerous and even the quality control is a joke with them.

I loved these immediately. Fast, quiet, functional. I am using with an aid ladder. I can get about 6 feet per section. I plan to try some single stick climbing with these. I bought these for saddle hunting. The key features are the gear type fold away dual step design and the rope cam lock attachment. It is the best way to attach a stick I have ever used. I am very impressed with these.I will mention I have used all types of strap on steps, wild edge steps etc. I would take these over all of them.

Great product exactly what I was looking for. Extremely light and easy to put on tree. I also bought some stealth strips from Stealth outdoors. One stick kit covered these with ease and absolutely is worth putting them on. They quiet any metal noise very well. I bought an xop vanish to go with the sticks and is a great mobile setup when strapped together. I was able to completely hang these sticks and stand in 12 min and pack up In 9 min first time out.

Pro: ROCK solid on a larger diameter pine, test climb Clamping mechanism allows very high overhead placement at my extended arms reach (very useful if using step ladder mod.) Double rung system (two handles on each side) very nice for the aforementioned, extended placements I was able to get about 12' off the ground with two sticks using the step ladder mod, alone In 20 minutes I was able to get 18' up with two sticks (I back cleaned my highest (2nd) stick and replaced it again) I am sure I could do it faster with practice if I selected a tree with less branchesI read some negative reviews in regard to noise; After carefully reading the included instructions I discovered an error in my assembly which may have lead to some others describing them as "loud." When I used mine they were silent. The teflon washer must separate the bark biting mechanism from the tube stock body. This insulates product from squeaking and allows the bark biting mechanism to articulate to various tree growth angles.Con: 2.5 lbs each, they seem over built for the job; they could be lighter (for someone who is 175 lbs) The strap/rope is too short; 20" is a small diameter tree for CA; 20" is the max or you must modify If you are climbing with the modified step ladder mod's you don't need 4 sticks; however I found it impossible to buy these in sets less than 4 When I opened the box two washers and a nut were loose inside and could have easily been lost****Overall I like them but am frustrated with the pricing, weight and number of sticks you must purchase. However having four sticks allows you to pre set two other trees besides the one you are in which will cut down on time if you want to switch locations. I'd give them 4.5 stars if the scale allowed me too do so.

Good sticks when used with an aider attached to the bottom. The bolts all needed to be tightened though.
