These gloves are very comparable to the brand name gloves that my son's karate school uses for their students.

Super fast shipping. We had a martial arts tournament coming up and two of my students needed hand gear and quickly. I order two, one black and the other red. I ordered two larger off of what the chart said. One gentleman has big muscular hands and the other had long fingers average build hands. Both fit perfectly with the gear. Nice thick padding, dense 1/4”-1/2” material. Strong Velcro straps. I saved this 5 star seller for gear the next time that I need some. A huge thank you to them.

Exactly what we hoped for as a replacement for outgrown equipment. Previously ordered from the manufacturer so I was not sure if this would meet expectation, but it does!

Great gear but they were narrower than I expected and are tighter on my hands than I expected. They are usable but next time I will size up just to be sure I don't rip them before their time.

I like the durability and ease of use for these. Also the hand doesn't get hot and sweaty like in a glove that encases the whole hand. My 6 year has no problem putting these on. I recommend them. He is in karate and they work great for sparring with a heavy bag or a person.

I started taking karate at my local dojo this January. During part of our class on some weeks we face off against fellow students in 3 minute sparring sessions. I wanted a pair of my own gloves since I wasn't too keen on using the sweaty gloves in the free-to-use pile near the practice area. I found these on Amazon, and after seeing they were well rated and inexpensive, went ahead and ordered them.I have now used these gloves in at least 10 different sparring matches over the past 3 months. Here are my thoughts:Pros:1. They are mostly of solid construction. The foam on the top of the glove and knuckle is thick and comfortable. Though the finger holes at the bottom feel a bit flimsy and likely to tear with abuse, the rest of of the gloves seem strong enough to take lots of abuse.2. They offer a bit more protection than the light-weight sparring gloves. I like more protection on my hand and thumb, and these gloves (though they might not qualify in a formal tournament) offer overall excellent protection for the hands, wrists, and all fingers.3. They are a striking blue. I get lots of compliments when I pull these out of my bag. Usually I hear "Hey! Those are nice gloves!" This could be because most everyone uses the old, ratty gloves the dojo provides, but I could be wrong. ;)Cons:1. As I mentioned previously, the finger holes near the top seem a bit flimsy and might tear or wear out after lots of use. This doesn't really concern me since I don't spar every day in class. I anticipate I should get more than my money's worth by the time I have to retire these and order a new pair. The upside to this is the cost is low enough it's not that big of a deal.

I bought this for my son who is taking karate and needs sparring gear. The gloves are a great fit and conform well to the hand. It has a natural feel and despite the protection it provides, doesn't feel bulky or cumbersome. He is 8 now and about 49" tall. At this point, they are a little on the big side but not too big which means he can use them at this size but still have probably another two years to grow in to them before we will need to up the size.
