The Pro Plug System for PVC is a superior plugging system for PVC decking & trim. It combines screw-down strength with the beauty of a hidden fastener system. This kit is created specifically for scalloped deck boards. This kit includes a template used to mark the deck board in the thickest section. Predrill where you've marked with the included drill bit. Next, set the screw with the Pro Plug PVC Tool and tap in the Trex plug with a hammer. Pro Plug PVC Plugs are made from the original PVC material so they are a perfect match to your PVC decking & trim. The PRO PLUG PVC Tool drives fasteners to the correct depth every time. The No Cam-Out Auto Stop prevents screw recess from stripping.

This product works very well. Makes the screw and the hole nearly disappear. You can take the time to color and pattern match but I didn’t see much of need for that level of detail. The hole nearly disappears regardless of which plug you use. If you are using it on stringers, drill a deep enough pilot hole or you may have problems and need to pound a few screws in with a nail set if they are too shallow.

So idea is awesome, execution not as much. Plugs matching the color very well. Tool is very good. The screws are notorious for stripping the wooden hole-it is like they don't have depth of the thread. This also might be related to the fact that the composite material heats up and accumulated at the top of the screw. The result is 1 in about 4 screws is not able to go to the required depth. To take them out is a pain. I figured, after taking them out and putting couple toothpicks it fixed the problem.

So glad I went with this system! The one box was more than enough for my 3-sided picture frame. Read the instructions first! One a screw is started, continue at full speed of drill! Do not let up! ProPlug device with stop at the proper depth.Even then they will stop short occasionally in harder older joists. I had to pound down with a Phillips head screwdriver to make enough room for the plug. The plugs matched my new Rocky Harbor deck perfect! The single included T20 drill bit is a special specific length (to allow the ProPlug device to stop automatically) is enough for this box of screws. I really like the final look of my new deck!

I recently installed a Trex deck on my house in the Rocky Harbor color. I had multiple areas where the hidden fasteners were not an option. This Pro Plug system made the install very professional looking and the hidden fasteners are great! You cannot tell that the fasteners and plugs are there and it looks great. I highly recommend this system!

Contractor here who bought scalloped composite boards for my home deck. Cortex does not make screws/plugs for the scalloped boards. Called Trex and they said there are no available plugs for the boards I ordered. Well, the magic of the internet and Starborn Industries, my decking is all laid down now. They have a simple plastic template for where to drill in the thick scallop portion of the board. PLUS they had the actual decking color (Rocky Harbor) plugs that noone else had. Because the board color is variegated it was tough to find the perfect plug matches but that isn't the products fault. Search the bags enough for the best looking plug and presto! Hole plugged as close as possible.Simple to do. Use the template to mark your hole, drill it with the supplied bit, then sink the screws using the supplied head. Screws stop at predetermined depth due to the screw bit. Ones that I messed up on even backed out better than Cortex screws did as well.Very pleased and would recommend!
