Took a bit to get in the ground, but definitely worth the time. Sturdy and adjustable. Lots of fun and nice that kids aren’t on a screen.

We had a nice above ground basketball hoop and the base was trash. I couldn’t justify purchasing an in ground hoop when ours worked fine (aside from the base). We ordered this and it was delivered quicker than expected. It was easy to install and works well. It’s much more visually appealing than the sandbags and blocks we had holding down our old hoop. My teens dunk on this and it doesn’t budge! Great value!

Our portable base busted and was so bulky and in the way. This sleeve fits around the base and is driven into the ground which makes it very study. My Grandsons really like it and now can dunk the ball. A little pricy but made of steel. Much better than base filled wth sand or water.

A friend of mine ran over our basketball base, and I was so happy to find this product to fix our problem. Much cheaper than replacing the base itself, easy to install, and now we have a more professional looking basketball hoop that’s in ground. It is sturdy and great quality, highly recommend for Those in a similar situation

Spalding wanted as much to replace the cracked base of my son's portable basketball hoop as an entirely new unit. Found this for half the price. I did not notice the instructions said use a 10 pound sledge. I bought an 8 pound sledge. I probably had to whack the steel base 300 times to drive it 2' deep into the ground into clay. Would it have been easier with a 10lb sledge? Not sure. But the 8lb got it done. It's no joke though. On my installation, I had a sprinkler line that ran parallel to my driveway where this needed to be installed. Also, I felt like installing this at the edge of the driveway created a bit of a hazard for my car. So I buried a paver flush with the driveway, and that gave me maybe a foot of setback. I can not imagine that this thing is EVER coming up, even if I want to pull it up. Seems like a quality product, heavy steel, sturdy as heck.

The product itself is great and so far seems to resist the wind pretty well with very little wobbling. However, the installation, particularly how you hammer it to the ground, was not as easy as I expected. I recommend hammering a crowbar to check if it will go at least 2.5 feet deep into the soil before ordering, as I suspect returning this is going to be very difficult. This step to creating a pilot hole is required anyway per the manual. What happened to me was, after I received the product, I used a crowbar to create a pilot hole, following the manual, but it would only go like 1.5 feet. I ignored that and went straight to hammering the stand to the ground, thinking it would go deeper with harder/longer hammering and it goes without saying that it went as deep as 1.5 feet and would not budge no matter how hard I tried. My hands hurt really bad with all the hammering.I ended up digging to remove the big stones in the soil to allow the base to go in fully and pour concrete to fill where I dug (as the soil was disturbed) and to stabilize the stand (see pictures). Should I know I would spend this amount of effort, I would go straight to an in-ground system, instead of buying this with a portable, trying to save some money.

I've had issues where high winds would knock over our basketball net. The last time this happened the base was damaged. After a quick google search for alternate solutions I found the ProBase and ordered it. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and despite being a bit skeptical at how it would hold up in heavy winds, after several weeks it is still standing solidly. I also love how we've completely eliminated the bulky plastic base and freed up room in our driveway.

I must admit I was very concerned living is south Florida that I would be able to hammer in the base spike 26" knowing of the hard coral limestone rock just about 1foot underneath the topsoil. Must admit all went well. The first thing we did before purchasing was contacting our local utilities to make sure nothing underneath wear we wanted to place the hoop. Once that was cleared we then made sure we could straighten out the backboard. (Followed the directions on line.) Lastly we started the pilot hole and were able to get the full 26". Product then purchased and arrived within 7 days. Once the spike was assembled off to work my son and I went. It took approximately just over an hour to hammer in between the both of us. (We had the black rubber block which took a beating towards the end but did the job well. We also used an 8lb sledge hammer.) Note.... Follow the online directions!!! The total project took about 3 and 1/2 hours, 45 minutes was spent figuring out what I did wrong and undoing what I placed backwards until I looked at the directions again. As listed in the photo I did not want to place the pole on the driveway so I used a concreate garden stone as the base for the pole. When all said and done was very pleased with product and outcome. Another positive note is the ease in which to remove and place back the pole and backboard when hurricane warnings are issued. (That's how the plastic base broke, by tipping over on it's side.) Also a much cleaner and aesthetic look then with that huge plastic base. Product is quite pricey but like they say "you pay for what you get." Overall, great product and yes I would recommend.
