Update 2 weeks after use: It worked flawlessly for 1 week and now suddenly has started banging very loudly just like the old unit did. This unit is defective and I'm returning it.10 minute replacement. Phenomenal product. No noise now. Removed the old. Replaced with new. No more Hammer BANG sound when sump runs. GONE. Complete silences. Before and After pics. Instructions: 1) disconnect power from Sump motor at plug and/or circuit breaker. 2) LOOSEN Bottom collar first on old unit. 3) Put bucket under old valve. 3) Loosen upper collar. 4) Drain water into pale. 4) Install new valve. 5) Restore power.

Installed a new sump pump with a basic cheap check valve. The water hammer clunk noise was so loud you could hear it throughout the house and would keep us up at night. This valve is so quiet you can’t even hear it when standing in the same room as the pump! I highly recommend this valve!

I had a loud banging noise whenever our basement sump pump was activated. It kept us up at night and was a real nuisance. The install was straightforward. I usually don't do too much plumbing and found this to be very straightforward. It's been a few months now and it's whisper quiet. Well worth the money and quality build.

We live on a slight hill so our sump pump goes off quite regularly and we have to replace the check valve once or sometimes twice a year depending on the quality of the valve. Regular valves will have one loud thump at the end of the cycle. So quiet valves we've used still often have a soft thump that's less annoying but certainly not "silent".This valve has only been installed for about 4 days so I can't attest to its longevity but it is absolutely silent, there is zero thump or any noise besides the pump motor. Very happy about that! Excellent product so far!

Most check valves are multiple parts with multiple places to fail. This check valve is a simple design with a see-through, one-piece body and the flapper. Easy to install and you can see it working.

Just installed this a couple of days ago and tested a few times. It is much quieter than my original plastic valve one, which had a loud thumping and vibration sound heard throughout the house. Now we can't hear it at all. Installation was easy--- the screws have a hex head, so you need a hex driver. The steel plates make it a little hard to install, but once it is done, it is actually very sturdy, much better than the rubber only connections. The reason i replaced my old one was that the rubber connections cracked and leaked. Very happy.

Had a noisy check valve and replaced it with one of these and it is very quiet. The new valve was easy to install and seems vert sturdy.

I can’t believe how well this valve works. We have 2 sump pumps and an ejector pump and one of the sumps are directly under our bedroom. For 33 years Listened to that damn valve clunk closed. When there’s a heavy rain that pump cycles on/off 2 to 3 time a minute. Imagine hearing that thing clunk over and over all night. I tried other “so called silent valves” in the past and they were just as bad and cost twice as much as a stranded valve. But this valve is different. Total silence. I can’t even hear it while standing in front of the sump pit with the cover off. Why didn’t I find this before? Well worth the price too!
