  • 45-degree tool set creates single, bubble, and double flares on steel, stainless steel, and soft metal (copper, aluminum) brake lines, transmission cooler lines, and fuel lines; For 3/16", 1/4", 5/16", 3/8" diameter lines.
  • This flaring tool is designed to be mounted in a vise, and the T-handle screw clamp securely keeps the die and tubing in place, so you can create flares quickly and easily.
  • The "turret-style" design allows you to make those precision flares in a minimal time, which saves you the hassle of groping for small parts or losing them.
  • When building car brake lines, the brake flaring tool kit adds a flare (makes tubing wider) to brake line end for a leak-free connection without hours of hand cramping or twisting exercises.
  • The flaring tool set is made of durable steel for reliable and long-lasting performance, high precision and safe to use. With a plastic case, compact and convenient to carry and store.

I was hesitant in getting this for review (I'm still taxed on it at 40%), as I had already skipped getting this style in favor of the big master cool set. The turret for job operation has imprecise detents, about as bad as you can imagine. There aren't really any teeth in the dies; there are hints of teeth but they look more like machining marks, or the "idea" of teeth. This means it's really not going to bite harder metals like stainless. The part you hold in the vise is some kind of heavy alloy. For the price, I think you're going to be disappointed in the quality. I think you could still get some flares in soft copper/nicop but you're going to be fiddling with that turrent to make sure the forming die is lined up right, and wondering if the tubing is going to slip. Pass on this one, I'll probably sell mine at a yardsale in 6 months.

Not your normal plumbing flaring tool. This is a must have for brakes and marine hydraulics. Good dies and it’s easy to use. Flares come out as they should and even work on stainless.

I was really excited to start flaring my stainless steel tubing but the purchase of this mechanism was a really bad choice of mine. The handle for tightening the bolt doesn't give you enough grip to fully tighten the cube inside the vise. In the picture you can see I had to up grade the bolt to pro-create a better way to tighten the dye inside the vise. That was also a bad idea after getting all of this done, the base of the vise clearly breaks. This is a very cheap pot metal tool that I would definitely not recommend to anyone. Let the pictures speak for itself have a good one

The male end of the dies would not insert into the female dies at all. I tried with 2 different die sizes and neither would work. There is an alignment issue with the rotating head and the stationary die and I could not get the male end to insert into the female die no matter what I tried. This particular unit was completely useless.

Use a little brake fluid to lube the internal pipes diameter. Follow the directions. Works flawlessly. Pre-plan and bend outside of the vehicle. Not for tight spaces

The rotating turret does not register with absolute accuracy when rotated. The forming die is "close" but NOT "dead on" with the end of the brake tubing. The clamping block halves are not perfectly machined; they are misaligned at the working face so that the flare will have an irregular side .. time after time. The clamping block halves have very slight "teeth" on the tube clamping surface that leave visible marks on copper-nickel tubing. These "teeth" are needed to firmly grip steel tubing yet they still allow the steel tubing to move when performing OP 1.This flaring tool is not strong enough to do flares in stainless steel tubing.
