UPDATE: It is now the middle of September and this microphone is still kicking! I use two of these several times a week and it does exactly what I need. While the audio quality is good (see original review below) it is not perfect, but my audio software has no problem adjusting it! So, once again for the price, this is hard to beat!Original Review:First, if you want a professional recording use pro equipment in a studio. This mic is worth every dollar. I purchased it to help with a vblog and live stream stuff, it does great. I have used it in a small room, a church sanctuary, and outside in the wind, It works far better than I expected and so far I am exceptionally pleased. In fact I am going to purchase another and will use them as an alternative to taking more expensive equipment outside. The tripod that comes with it feels cheap, and that is the only knock on it.

Sorry Zach sound I thought I review this product but I have not. Just wanted to say it with a high quality microphone this is. I use it to narrate videos I use it for speech to text oh my computer. Okay I even use it to do a little karaoke. The surprise was the insanely incredible microphone stand that it comes with. I've been looking for a stand like this and it comes free with the mic are you kidding me. It Folds into a handle so you can use it as a pistol grip holder and then it unfolds into a 3-legged tripod mic stand that fits on the table does not extend but it's about 8 inches high on the table. I won't lie it fits perfectly on any camera and I also use it for my Air Pro. With that pistol grip it is very easy to handle and very easy to aim the camera. And with the 2 accessory adapters you can plug this mic into almost anything. Thanks again ZaxSound. Sorry about the late review

I am making a small “as cheap as it gets” home studio. My objective was to record vocals. I also use Smule Sing for karaoke stuff and wanted something better than than the crappy headphone mic that come with iPhone. Zax sound is so low cost and plugs into the headphone jack of your iPhone or iPad, which makes it super budgetty and superb ease-of-use. However I had to return it because the sound quality it offered was very poor. The sound is very muddy and there are no details but then cannot expect much for this price. I ended up increasing my budget to a usb mic from blue. Three stars only because it records sound, super easy to use and the price.

Probably just a problem with my particular system, but this is not really a great mic either. It's cool that it comes with a stand, a splitter and a USB jack. The USB jack, on my Lenovo T510 with Windows 7, has killed the driver on my laptop speakers ... I'll probably be able to fix it but right now, they don't work. I have the settings correct in the Sound control panel, just somehow this USB jack stepped on them and now that it's no longer in the computer I have no sound except out my headphone jack.In addition, for a cardioid mic it picks up a lot of background noise to the side and was pretty scratchy. Only tested on the USB interface, bad experience, sent it back. If it works for you, great, it's a nice looking little mic but didn't work for me.

**UPDATE 06/07/16**After I posted my original review and sent back the microphone I ordered, I was contacted by the seller. After some back and forth about what I experienced and my reason for returning the product, the seller was confident that they could send me a working microphone. They advised they would test it in house before sending it out to me. Well, it took some time but, I eventually got the new microphone and it works perfect on the same equipment I used last time. I am happy with the sound and quality. I therefor raised my starts from a 1 to a 4. I still had to go through sending back my old one and waiting for a new one but I did end up getting a working and great product (especially for the cost).**ORIGINAL REVIEW**IF this product would have worked, it would have been an extremely easy set up, just plug it in. I have a Samsung 7 Edge that i was attempting to use this with. I am a new blogger on YouTube and am trying to improve the quality of my videos with both picture, lighting, and sound. The Samsung has a great picture, I bought a great Lighting kit (awesome), and all I was missing was to make the sound perfect. I was torn between purchasing this and a lapel. I guess I should have ordered the lapel. Seeing as I'm not using any real professional equipment, I thought that for the price, this would be a great place to start for getting better sound quality.So, what was the problem you ask? The BUZZING! Although the mic was able to pick up my voice (barely), there was an awful buzzing sound that was horrible. Regardless of how I plugged it in, it just would not work. I took it out of the stand and basically put it in front of my mouth and still no use. You could barely hear me and the buzzing was there. I read reviews of holding the mic in the wrong direction, it wasn't that either. MAYBE this item is just not compatible with the samsung 7edge. This item is being immediately returned.Hope this helps :)
