The good thing about this is that it's easy to put on and take off.The magnets in the case are very strong so I don't have to worry about it falling off.However, I was disappointed.One of the three screws was of poor quality and once I put it in, it was impossible to remove.So I had to break it and pull it out.It needs to be a little more precise. Overall, it's a positive.

I have a metal topper on my truck, we use the truck to haul around the travel trailer. We just picked up the mini and needed a way to mount it for on the go use. The magnetic pads feel pretty strong, I can't imagine it flying off going down the road and it does have 3 quick release thumb screws to get the mini out easily. I did modify the unit slightly to fit my particular application. As you can see from the photos, I mounted it at a bend in the roof. I was able to change the angle of the feet to fit the roof of the topper. It did take some effort as the metal framing of the mount is pretty heavy, I was using a large hammer and also an extra large crescent wrench to bend it into the position I wanted. Now it has a slight rake to it, hopefully deflecting the air up rather than under and also to help pickup the satellites a little better than just straight up, flat. The cable connects easily under the dish and the mount does not interfere with this at all.This is strictly something I wanted to do for myself and my equipment, not suggesting you modify this heavy duty mount, that would be totally up to you. As it is manufactured and shipped, it is intended to be mounted on a flat surface.
