Update:We set up a plywood target and while throwing the knives, one of the tips broke off, revealing a hairline crack inside from the heating process during manufacturing. They were thrown (normally, not ‘he-man’d’) less than 50 times but thankfully it was still within the return window so we opened a return & reship. Disappointing but if you have ever watched the tv show ‘forged in fire’, it’s not uncommon. Metal can be very strong but it can also be finicky & sensitive during the manufacturing process (creating defects inside that you can see from the outside). So far so good with the rest of the weapons but I’ll update if there’s anything else to report.Original:My husband has wanted a set of throwing axes & knives since he was a kid and I am thrilled that after 43 years, I could finally make that dream come true with these. They are an ok price point for being medium good quality construction & metal. They have a pretty good balance - not perfect but not off enough to interfere with throwing. They are a good weight and work really well. Of course, they have a learning curve (naturally) to be better at throwing them. Good medium sharpness and I appreciate that they come with a little sharpener gadget and a bonus keychain. They do not come with any directions, so I didn't know what the extra little things were. They arrive really oily in double bags from the manufacturer to prevent damage/rust during shipping. Although I appreciate that they come with a carrying/storage case, it is definitely lower quality - the buckles are facing the wrong way (it opens upside down if you open with the buckles to your right) and the Velcro tabs are really cheap quality, short & small so they don't make securing the axes as easy as they should be.We do really like the axes & knives - they do have a fairly comfortable shape & feel in the hand, easy to throw, good size & weights, and semi-good quality steel. They do have a slight tendency for the blade edges to roll a little if they hit something really hard, but we were really happy they didn't chip or break. All in all, for all you get and how great they work, we are really happy with this set. I recommend.

Great set of solid steel throwing hatchets and knives. This is a fun activity out in the woods or backyard. Good weight on these items. Come sharpened and covered in protectant. The hatchet has cutouts for a bottle opener and bolt turner in case you would need that while out in the woods. Nice case. 3 lightweight throwing axes and three arrow point throwing knives. Staying on the theme, there is a axe keychain and bottle opener and knife sharpener that were not even expected!

I've been throwing axes and knives in my backyard for a couple of years, and I picked these up to have a spare set. They are really nicely built! They come in a premium-feeling fold-out case that doesn't feel cheap and makes a nice presentation. Each axe has a bottle opener in the handle, which feels a bit like overkill, but that's not a big deal. They come pre-sharpened and oiled. I ended up using some hockey-tape to wrap the handles for more comfortable throwing. All in all, these are a great way to get a set of throwing hatchets and knives in one set instead of buying them separately.

This is a decent starter set of 3 lightweight throwing axes and three arrow point throwing knives.The axes are 10.3oz each (293g); the knives are 4.37oz each (124g).Comes in a basic carrying roll. All axes and knives came coated in mineral oil and wrapped in plastic. They will need to be wiped off first but this keeps the metal fresh.They come sharp enough for throwing right away and found them to be enjoyable. They are on the "lighter" side for a throwing experience, but that also makes them easy to transport and carry. They feel decent quality and will report back if I find them breaking.The axes all have a built in bottle opener on the handle, because... obviously why not?Honestly, the best surprise was the cute little metal viking axe keychain that came in the box that also doubles as bottle opener.Finally, they include a basic knife sharpener which on the opposite end has ANOTHER bottle opener.

Let's start with the important stuff. These are solid steel items. The balance feels pretty good and on my first attempts to throw both the hatchet and the knife we're pretty successful. Throwing with my offhand, because my primary hand is in a cast, I was able to stick the hatchet every time. The first time I threw the knife it did not stick but I got a good solid stick the second and third time I tried it. I was five for five with Hatchet and three for five with the knife. I also like the weight of both the knife and the hatchet. Now both could be a lot sharper but for throwing they are acceptable. The hatchet has cutouts in the handle for a bottle opener and different hexagons for bolts. Honestly I'm not sure why any of these are necessary as I don't really think people will be using this as that kind of a tool. And I personally would never drink alcohol and play with sharp objects at the same time. The case that it comes with is nice and has a spot for each individual item. My only negative was the case that I got had a couple of holes in the pocket that one of the hatchets slid into. Overall this is a fun kit if you like throwing.

I got this for my husband, because they say if you aren't sure what to get the man in your life you can't go wrong with meat or unique weapons. This is pretty true for my husband, and these were no exception! They are SHARP, as they are meant for practicing throwing knives and axes. They have a decent weight to them, but aren't too heavy, which is nice when I try to use them. Each piece looks to be made out of one solid piece of metal, and most of them were oiled when we got them, but one of the axes wasn't, which was a little odd. Overall, he loves them and can't wait to get to use them a bit more!
