I swapped out the stock forks springs for these on my trike. Easy swap out one for one, the only concern I had was the extension caps for the trike didn’t fit, but with the extra strength on these springs it still worked, may have lost a 1/4 inch ground height is all.

My 2004 GL1800 had Progressive Suspension springs installed very early on but since it had another left fork seal failure I researched Progressive Suspension 31-2511 Monotube Fork Cartridge Kit and opted to purchase them. I can't speak to the kit's installation due to limited time and shop space and that was a good choice as there were serious issues with the fork damper bolt removal and several other problems to the previous mechanic's over active impact tool.I would like speak to Jhon's review titled "Is it better than stock? Yes. Is it worth it? Yes. Is it bumpy as others claim? Unfortunately, Yes.Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2019"I totally agree with his first and second questions but somewhat disagree with his bumpy claim. The forks were definitely bumpy and choppy with the rear suspension set on O preload. (I previously serviced the rear suspension with a new stainless braided hose, fresh fluid, and totally bled the rear system of air.) I am a 200 lbs. rider so maybe not enough load on the forks is my guess. I upped the rear to the 4 setting and the front smoothed, right out. I find the bike a lot more precise and sportier now. Going two-up brought the chatter back somewhat but taking the rear setting to 6 had it disappear again. After 4000 miles of riding with some of that on very poor roads I can say I am extremely happy with the way the bike feels, rides, and responds now. I have only bottomed the forks once on a bad road break where that occurred a lot more frequently before on the bad roads I have travelled this season.I can highly recommend Progressive Suspension 31-2511 Monotube Fork Cartridge Kit for GL1800. I also can recommend MX South for the quick delivery of this item to my front door in Canada. Thanks.

You have to pay attention during the install but it is straight forward and not as difficult as I thought it would be.

I wanted to ad my two cents to the reviews about the Progressive Monotube suspension for the 5ht Gen Goldwing. As many of us, I’m on a budget and can’t afford the high price tag of the famous traxxion suspension upgrade. If you don’t have much time to read this review here it is the summary: Is it better than stock? Yes. Is it worth it? Yes. Is it bumpy as others claim? Unfortunately, Yes.I am 5’7” 170 lbs guy that rides 90% solo. I followed the instructions religiously and added the exact amount of the recommend Honda fork Oil. The ride is improved, however the price is to pay is that you will have a bumpier ride, especially at speeds between 10-50 mph. I was following my wife behind the car and she thought I was flashing my high beams. Before I installed this suspension, I tried replacing the fork oil with a 15W, which was an improvement but was not what I wanted. If you hate the harshness of the stock suspension and don’t have the $$$$ to pay for the traxxion upgrade, I think this can be an alternative. However, remember that your ride will be bumpier. Is very weird, is bumpy but is not uncomfortable. It handles great at high speeds (80+mph) and I consider myself to have an aggressive ridding style. To completely enjoy the added benefits of the new upgraded suspension, you also need to make sure than you eliminate any rattling from the trunk. After many different small modifications, my trunk was almost rattle free, but on harsh bumps would still make noises, until I tried adding ¼” clear tubing inside the weather strip of the trunk. Was not easy to do, and I had to do it by halves, half to the right and half to the left. Also adding the soft part of Velcro around the internal border of the lid, so when it closes there is no friction between plastic vs plastic.

This Monotube Fork cartridge kit is the best thing that has happened to my Goldwing! It handles so much better after the install, I decided to upgrade the rear suspension components also. The bike literally feels 300 lbs lighter on the road now! Handles the curves much better!

WOW what a difference in rebound and smoothness on a 18 feet U-Turn. Figure 8 within 18 foot circles was do steady stiff. Way lot cheaper than traxxion brand and I think it does better. I rode a bike with Traxxion and I rode a bike one with progressive before I bought these. Excellent buy and highly recommended.

Just as I had hoped. Better ride and handling and not hard to install. I would recommend this product.
