Sound It is extremely important that turntable and the actual record are decoupled from each other. High-quality pickups work extremely sensitively and can easily record interactions between record and turntable. Common felt mats allow gentle contact between plate and plate, but have problems with electrostatic charging. This can lead to large accumulation of dust on the mat and record. The cushioning effect is also limited, which can be problematic especially with metal turntables. Thick rubber mats usually dampen too much and also prevent the dissipation of electrostatic charges from the plate, which leads to audibly more crackling and cracking. As the name suggests, cork & rubber it consists of a thoughtful mix of cork and rubber. This combines the exceptionally good damping properties of rubber with the electrostatic benefits of cork. Weet niet of ik een fout exemplaar heb gekregen of wat er aan de hand is, maar er lijkt een hele hoop fijn bruin stof van de mat af te komen. Ook als de lp niet perfect plat is lijkt deze mat dit uit te vergroten ten opzichte van mij vilten mat die bij de speler kwam. Ik zie geen voordeel in deze prijzige aankoop. Wat mij betreft een miskoop die zo snel mogelijk retour gaat! :-(

I have a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Evo so the platter mat can only be a certain height unless I raise the arm - which I didn’t really want to do. I definitely noticed a reduction in static buildup during playback, but the value is in an increased warmth and a very slight reduction in shrill highs during playback. A definite improvement over the felt mat. I wish Pro-Ject would just ship with these.In years past, I’ve tried acrylic, rubber, cork, and felt mats in the past. This is certainly the best one I have ever put on a turntable.

Płyta już tak się nie elektryzuje ,chociaż bywają przypadki że się klei do płyty. Jest to bardzo rzadko. Moim zdaniem basy są głębsze

Thin and dense, the rubber and cork make a great vibration damping platform between the platter and stylus. The 1mm thickness does not change the VTA of the stylus.
