About this item

 •
The DC8 was designed by Texas educator Jeff Ausdemore. His stick has a "fast" feel due to the thin neck which bodes well for quick response in either single stokes or multiple bounce rudiments. The DC8's shoulder also flares out quickly to handle rim shots and the shaft provides a "full" feeling in the player's hand. The small bead provides a very clear articulation and a focused attack at all volumes.

Because of its resilience, responsiveness and durability, hickory is the most commonly used wood for drum sticks. Hickory is the classic drum stick feel.

For over 50 years, ProMark has been one of the world’s leading manufacturers of drumsticks, mallets, and percussion accessories. Owned and operated by D'Addario & Co., the Houston, Texas based ProMark produces products used globally by the greatest drummers and percussionists in the world, including Neal Peart, Phil Collins, Simon Phillips, Ringo Starr, and many more.

This has become my go to stick. It feels good in the hands and plays quickly. It rebounds well and is responsive, yet still produces a great, full sound.

Jeff Ausdemore Dc 8 Snare sticks are probably the beefiest sticks I've ever attempted to use. with a .730 diameter they are much beefier than most snare sticks made by either vic firth or promark. These sticks are quite unique in their shape. The tear drop beads provides a unique playing stance gentle yet strong. These sticks resound quite well when used. Their taper is very thick which is great for marching percussionists who tend to gawk a lot on their snares. Speaking from first hand experience these can last an entire season even when faced with heavy abuse. Only bad thing about these sticks, for those using traditional grip that are not used to beefy sticks there may may issues with holding the sticks other than that these are very good sticks to own. Great "Cadence/ Standtune Sticks." One last tid bit. the picture for these sticks shows they have two little circular grooves carved at the butt of the stick. The picture is for the Jeff Ausdemore Dc 18i indoor sticks not the regular Jeff Ausdemore Dc8 stick. Just as a forewarning.
