Promate 5mm Dreadnought scuba dive zipper boots has a comfortable hard rubber sole to provide the highest control and power transmission during fining action. The neoprene around the ankle area is made from a super-elastic material. The lower section of the boots neoprene is standard, ensuring warmth and adherence. The entire boots neoprene is durable nylon II material and the boot has a hard rubber sure grip sole. The complete front and the heel are reinforced with vulcanized rubber to protect this high wear area. The heel of the boot comes with a fin strap lug to keep your fin straps from shifting while in the water. The strong and durable zipper entry allows easy donning and doffing and the zipper dam prevents water seepage through the slide fastener. All seams are glued and sewn for strength and durability and the boots top edge is taped and sewn for the same.

If you ever tried rollerblades, remember how bad your feet hurt the first time you used them? That's what your feet will feel like after wading in these for a couple hours.

My overwhelming choice for wearing while wet wading or over my stocking foot waders when fishing the flats of Tampa Bay. I’ve never had a zipper break and soles are incredibly durable.

Bought this shoe as a replacement for my water shoes I use for wade fishing. Absolutely love them. Comfortable to wear for long periods and best of all no sand or rocks get in. I'm considering buying another pair 2 sizes larger to use with my waders for cooler temps.

These scuba boots with sport soles are awesome. These were an upgrade from Promate's soft sole scuba boots which are also great, but I am in and out of a cypress sink, cypress swamp, and lake most of the day. The rocks at the boat ramp would sometimes get my foot and worse is the small cypress knees that hide under the muck. Those really hurt. These boots eliminate that pain. They also have a hardened coating on the top which is where I would get small holes from brambles and sticks that would be just under the surface on the soft pair. These are also better than the next cheaper brand, that brand had a seem inside that would hurt the side of the foot. The Promate's are more comfortable than many famous brand tennis shoes I've owned.Edit: Well I've had these for over a year and they are still the best wader fishing boots and best snorkeling/dive boots I've ever owned. I did have to widen the straps on my dive fins to accommodate the hard sole, but the hard sole seems to give more foot and ankle support for a more powerful kick. Their are no holes in the neoprene and the sole is still firmly in place. These boots are still like new sans the slight swamp muck often staining them. They are comfortable and light. I highly recommend these boots for in or out of the water.

I use them for metal detecting. The sole is more like a regular shoe. Its exactly what i needed for walking on the rocks in the creeks. And they are working great on the saltwater beaches with keeping the sand out. They are pretty comfortable for those longer walks. The size runs true to size. I would give them 5 stars but they do not have a zipper strap. So far not a problem but we will see how that plays out in the long run. Every other shoe has one they need to add one.

I wore these for an 8 day kayak paddle down the muddy Neuse river instead of my go-to scuba boots because I grew tired of feeling every rock and stick in the river poking in my feet when I stopped for breaks. These shoes fit great, were comfortable during 12 hour paddle days, and solid sole provides excellent traction and blocks those annoying rocks and sticks from poking my feet. These are now my go-to paddle shoes for all trips, long and short ones. Great price too!!

I ordered a size Men 7 / Women 8 and my toes go right up to the end. (I wear a 9 in tennis shoe.) I was a bit worried when I initially put them on that they were going to be too small. But once wet they worked perfectly. Very comfortable. I bought these because my toes were becoming sore with my other dive booties on. The fins rubbed I guess. These booties are formed enough that the problem is completely gone. I love this - I would buy them again. They fit just fine in my existing fins as well. Well constructed and offer great protection!

These scuba boots are awesome!! I use them for kayak fishing. You can walk all over the docks and over rocks to launch your yak with no problem. Yes, they are that comfortable!! Kept my feet warm in the Pacific Ocean. Water got in but that was probably when my legs were submerged past the ankle height and flexing. As another reviewer stated, the glue job is not pretty but then again, you're not buying them as a fashion statement. Fully functional and worth every penny. Sizing seems to be close.
