Makes longer bike rides possible since I can tilt the handlebar back quickly to give my wrists a break. And if I want to ride more aggressively, it's just as quick to tilt the handlebars back down again. Once installed there are no tools required.

Most importantly, read the instructions when installing this stem. I really like that you can literally adjust the height of your handle bars in seconds. It holds the handle bars in place firmly if you read the instructions and make the adjustments accordingly. The only thing that could improve this design is if it used a parallel bar design that would keep the handle bars from rotating when adjusting the height of the handle bar, similar to some of the suspension stems I have seen.

I bought an ebike that came with one of these Promax stems on it and I fell in love with its adjustability.2 things to consider. You have to slide your handlebar completely thru this to attach it. So a grip and controls have to come off one side. If your bar has a lot of contours to it that could be an issue. The next issue I encountered was with my desire to have the bars as tall as possible, I had to put longer cables on the shifters and brakes. After all that was done, its a great product!

Not knowing a lot about bicycle construction or maintenance I bought this to help transform my bike into a comfort style ride. I thought that this product would aid in adjusting my bicycle to become more comfortable. Spoiler, yes it's perfect for this purpose. If you're like me and don't know a bunch about bikes you'll be surprised to learn that you need to learn about star nuts. This is the nut that the stem threads into. This comes with a new replacement nut. I don't think you have to use it but you either use it or set it aside. Otherwise it will be in the way.I needed to replace mine. I'm sure I damaged it in the distant past and thought it would be the problem of my future self. Lucky for me this comes with a replacement. Mine was too far down the shaft and the bolt wouldn't reach. What did I do?I used something long to hammer the star nut through the other end of the fork. Then I installed the new star nut using a M6 screw, the star nut, and a 1/2 socket. Basically assemble the before mentioned list and take a hammer and carefully wack the new star nut in place. Don't drive it more then 1.5 centimeters into the tube and you're all good.Moral of the story? If you need a new star nut there's one there for you.If you don't need a new star nut then remove the new one from the adjustable bike stem and save it for a rainy day.

I got this for my Pedego Interceptor ebike. It's a 29" ebike and the stem that came stock was too short for me. I thought about buying a new fixed stem, but someone recommended getting this stem to find the perfect height and angle. That was my plan but this adjustable stem works so well that I might just keep it on there. The concern I had was the Interceptor is a cruiser with large, swept handlebars that are heavy. I didn't know if this adjustable stem could handle the torque and weight. So far, it is doing well. This is the same adjustable stem the Pedego City Commuter uses, but the City Commuter has mountain bike type handle bars. Very happy with this purchase.

It's a big heavy completely adjustable stem. OK, I guess you can't make it longer or shorter, but you can adjust it in an arc and it works great. For the people who say it's too loose, tighten it! There's a bolt (see picture) on the bottom that adjusts the clamp tension the stem exerts, and mine by default was very loose. I gave the bolt about 1/4 turn and everything tightened right up. This thing's cool!

Works great and has solid construction. Adjusted properly, there is no handlebar movement (unless perhaps you are an overweight mountain biker - then buy something more appropriate). The only tricky part is fitting in a handlebar first time if it has a lot of bends and curves, but once in, you have a great range of adjustment for comfort or for quick collapse into a smaller profile for transporting the bike.

Raises handlebar to a comfortable position, however needed a longer left brake cable. Stem on my Schwinn Talik 29er was 3/4" longer than receiver on Promax adjustable stem, so I had to make a suitable metal spacer for it to fit properly. I had no problems after that re: loose fit or movement. I ride on paved and dirt roads, and smooth trails but not on rough terrain.
