Your cart is empty.This is a high visibility yellow colored propeller stop that is designed to stop the propeller and hold it firmly in place when replacing or installing the propeller nut. This propeller is compatible with all outboard and stern drive applications and will fit Mercury, Alpha, etc. and fits snugly on the propeller shaft. This propeller stop is simple to use and can be easily installed by sliding the propeller stop onto the propeller shaft and tightening the locating screw with a propeller wrench to complete the installation.

I was a bit confused by the title of this product being a replacement. I am not using this as a replacement for anything but utilizing it on its own. When placed properly on the props this holds them in place while loosening the fasteners. See pictures for reference of it in use. Here is a tip from a boat mechanic I have used. Before removing the props draw a line with a sharpie across the front prop and drive and where the two props meet or what I did most recently was use electrical tape and cut it with a knife where the front prop meets the drive and the two props meet. This makes it much easier to line the props back up when you put them back on.If you are looking for a tool to remove the front prop check out Marine Tech 3855876 it is a quality tool unlike some other out there that bend and do not last.For reference my outdrive is a 1999 Volvo DP-SM.On my outdrive the rear prop nut size is 1-3/16.Also for reference if you have the same drive the Volvo o ring part number you will need when changing the drive fluid are dipstick 3852045, vent plug 3855081, and drain plug 955981.Drain plug is 8mm hex, 3 drive cover screws are 3/8, vent plug is large flat head and dipstick is 9/16.I use Volvo 80w-90 Gear Lube 1141677 and specifications state 2.5 quarts.If you have the same 1999 Volvo 5.7 GSI PWTRCE motor I do here are some more part numbers.Volvo oil filter 3850559 and fuel filter 3852228.I use Volvo full synthetic 10w-40 21681795 and specifications state 6 quarts.Use this additional information at your own risk but I believe all part numbers and specifications are correct.Hopefully others will find the additional info helpful.

Fit snug on my motor and easily kept the prop from spinning for removal and install. It's small and plastic so I'm keeping this on the boat for emergencies.
