Works well, as long as you make sure to completely empty your 1lb bottles.

Works reasonably well. Hard to fill full, but ill play around with freezing cylinders and putting large output in the sun.

I got this to refuel my many 1 lb tanks of propane. I use them for camping as well as lighting the smoker and BBQ at home. This saves on costs and also allows me to recycle the smaller tanks. Well worth the money.

I found that if you put the little green tank in the freezer first, for 5 minutes or so, you get a better fill. Then, this adapter will allow you to refill the empty little green propane bottles. It attaches to the 20 lb tank and the little green tank, then you just open the valve and the refill occurs. The sound let's you know when it's done.

I like that this includes a pressure gauge that also shows a correct range for a full cylinder. I typically like to solder home plumbing using one of the Coleman green style cylinders vs a tall skinny Bernzomatic cylinder, as they have a wider base and lower, so less likely to tip over. My torch only operates when squeezing the trigger, but nice to know it won't fall over with the lower cylinders. Anyway, be sure to invert your barbecue cylinder to fill as LPG propane is Liquid Petroleum Gas, so needs to drain out that way into the receiving tank. Also, your grill tank may get cold with this when filling as an fyi. This worked great to fill 2 or 3 empty cylinders and ready for the next fill!

I much prefer the push lever on the flameking filler (it turns off if you let go), but this is completely functional. I would suggest wearing gloves with this one (maybe with the other too), since you will probably end up with liquid propane spurting out of a valve at some point, and the short pipe coming away from the tank makes reaching the ball valve a little tricky / tight environment. Oh, that and your hands will stink of propane after using this.I tested this filling a couple disposable bottles I had. The trick to doing this is to have some needle nose pliers or a hemostat to lift up on the purge valve while trying to fill. Lifting this will allow air to escape (space for propane to fill), and also cooling the bottle (which will also help propane fill). Attach this device so the filling end is pointing "Up" (if the bulk propane tank is in normal "up" orientation), then flip the whole tank over at the edge of a table and have the valve pointing down. There are videos on how to do this on the web in the normal places. If you find the instructions for the flame king filler, you'll see what I'm talking about (except those bottles use a hex wrench to open the purge valve).I'll keep using my flame king kit at home, but this is going to go in the camping box in case we need to fill bottles in the field.Item Reviewed:Propane Refill Adapter for 1 lb.
