I had one of these in the past and it was kind of bare-bones compared to this one. If you need one or just have pyro tendencies, you'll be pretty darn happy with this set. Bag, torch, hose, adapter, wrench, extra O rings. Heck, they even included some teflon tape.First off, the fact that this set breaks down small and has a pretty decent carrying case is really handy. Last one I owned didn't really break down, so it was a bit clunky to store. Bigger deal than you'd think, to be able to break it all down and have it in a nice sized bag that's easy to put on a shelf. My old one took up a lot of storage space. Had to hang it on the garage wall.Second, the adapter is great. Last one I owned, had to be connected to the propane tank from the grill. Kind of a pain to have to lug all that around. Maybe I'm dumb, but it never even occurred to me to get an adapter to use a smaller cylinder. It is super handy to be able to hook this bad boy up to any propane cylinder you have lying about for your blow torch or whatever. With a smaller cylinder, you can even use it without the hose. Nice.Click to ignite. Another nice built in feature that my old one didn't have. I really appreciate not needing to remember to grab the striker.Anyway. I'm very happy. This torch is real nice. Bet it makes a mean s'more in a fraction of a second and puts a nice sear on a steak and yes, I will be testing both of those out when no one is watching, thank you. Let the weeds and ice tremble in fear.

It appears to be of good quality.Wow this torch comes with everything except for the fuel and fuel tank. The long hose will give the tourch more user options and makes it easy to use. Functionality makes it easy for a novice like me to use it.If you are on the fence and it needs the weeds trimmed back....you need this propane torch! LolWe plan to use it to burning the weeds on the fence row and around our buildings. And who knows what other chores we will find it useful for!

This is my first weed torch. I found this kit very comprehensive and just had to grab my tank from my grill and started blasting. Use is very simple. You turn a dial and the pilot starts and you use the built in igniter to get the pilot lit. Once lit you simply squeeze the handle to torch. You can adjust to dial to change the intensity of the torching. Not sure if it's because I had a fresh tank but this thing sounds like a fighter jet afterburner which is very entertaining. A fresh tank will have the highest PSI this will see and I don't not have any leaks whatsoever.There are a few variables when torching. You want to find the right balance between the flame and the height you will be holding the tip at. Overall no matter how many adjustments I made I wasn't impressed by how living weeds burned. I feel like torching 10-15 seconds on a tiny weed is a bit of a waste and I will stick with my other methods. Now if the weed is already dead, this thing is amazing! I have a gravel driveway I have to use weedkiller on often but the dead weeds end up staying forever and are impossible to get out by hand. I torched some dead weeds and they were gone nearly instantly which was super satisfying.While not mentioned as a recommended use this is absolutely incredible for burning leaf piles. The problem with burning leaves is when they are dry it's too dangerous so you have to wait until it's just a little wet but then it's hard to get the piles started. I used to use a couple gallons of lighter fluid but this is far more convenient and probably safer. You can walk a circle around torching the pile and start tons of little flames that make enough heat to start drying and then burning down the pile. It's amazing, and I imagine it's equally useful for starting kindling for fires.

I bought this hoping for a good non-traditional way to maintain the weeds in my yard. Although it is fun to wield a flamethrower, I am unsure how good it will be in the long run. The price was good though, so it has been worth the try so far.

There are several things that really stand out about this Calpose Propane Torch Weed Burner and put it above the others I own. First is the ease of assembly and disassembly. It takes only minutes to uncase, and put it together or take it apart and place it back into it case, making it real practical and much easier to store. The piezo igniter is conveniently position and seems to be very reliable, so far it has been consistent in lighting the torch. Since I have about 15 propane tanks for my hobby blacksmith, not all of which have the same outlet, the included adapter is very handy. It will get as much use in the shop as in the garden, if not more. And it is MORE than competitively priced, a real value! The best of four different propane weed burners I have. And even though I haven't had it long, all things considers, 5 stars!
