Each of the m65 jackets on the market have variations in their respective product. I was a bit put off that this midel didnt have the brass zippers lime my original. But the nylon zipper glides smoithly. This model by propper comes in long sizes. The xl long i bought fits my sleeve length perfectly. I am 6.5. Vs otge models would leave the sleeves far short of my wrists if i extended my arms. The shape and fit are not so snug that it would limit movement. The hood hidden in the collar is of a thicker material. This jacket is of a nylon cotton blend vs the 100% cotton or poly blend others may be made of. I found it warm and durable while walking or working in the brush. I will put it to use in new hampshire hikes. A decent price for a rugged coat.

Best field jacket I have found. Great quality. Runs a little on the large side, I bought another one a size smaller and it fits a bit snugger but I also get the larger one for the very cold times in Michigan I may need to wear it over heavier clothing. The jacket with the liner is very warm on its own and meets most of my cold weather needs. Jacket is stylish enough to wear with or without liner out for the evening. Quickly becoming my go to jackets for most occasions

Couldn’t be happier. So close to the original. If you’ve never had an original, you will not notice , Mine has the appropriate size liner, wearable by itself if needed.I’m 5’8, 200lbs and the large is the perfect size. It doesn’t feel bulky and there is just enough room to wear a .layer underneath if you want. Remove the liner, and you have even more room for a layer of your choice. Insulated vest maybe? …Stitching is tight against the pocket edges and looks professional ……. YKK zippers. …..you’ll want to put some paracord on them though.Again, a very nice jacket…….i don’t right too many 5 star reviews, this jacket deserves it ……

M65-Jacken habe ich schon einige ausprobiert - und die meisten umgehend verworfen. Ich besitze ein Modell aus Armeebeständen in Woodland-Tarn, an dem sich die anderen Jacken messen müssen.Der Oberstoff besteht zu je 50 % aus Nylon und Baumwolle (NyCo), andere Mischungen, z. B. mit Polyester, entsprechen nicht dem Standard und sind zumeist minderwertig.Mit der originalen Armeejacke konnten sich bisher nur die Produkte zweier Hersteller messen; die von Helikon-Tex und Propper. Sie bestehen aus dem gleichen Stoff und auch die (hohe) Verarbeitungsqualität steht dem Vorbild in nichts nach.Der Stoff ist lange wasserabweisend und das Futter ist im Winter sehr willkommen. Die Kunstoffreißverschlüsse des Propper-Modells sind hochwertig und entsprechen dem Armeestandard. Die Nähte sind sorgfältig ausgeführt und der Stoff ist tiefschwarz gefärbt.Für Menschen über 1,80 m sind die Langmodelle (z. b. medium-long) gedacht. Selbige als NyCo-Version in »zivilen« Farben gibt es - zumindest nach meinem Informationsstand - nur von Propper.Mein Modell in schwarz wurde schnell aus den Vereinigten Staaten geliefert und erfüllte all meine hohen Erwartungen.Wer nach einer klassischen, wetterfesten und außerordentlich robusten Jacke, die einen viele Jahre begleiten wird, sucht, hat sie hier gefunden.

Note there are competitor brands but trust me…. True sizing and excellent quality,at par if not better than alpha industries, helikon Tex etc… trust me close your eyes and order while they last… if u not. Planning on layering then size down 1 size else stick to sizing chart

Purchasing this I knew it was a Chinese knockoff of the M65 Field Jacket. The Jacket seems to be well made, had some weight to it, and fit ok except for the sleeves. The sleeves are huge both in length and we're very wide. The velcro at the cuff is too short to close the wrist opening. In fact it is to short to do anything. Fix the sleeves and extend the velcro and this would be a good jacket. As it is now, the jacket isn't functional.

This is the initial review and not based on any field testing as of yet. That will come later.The sizing can be confusing. Most some here say to order one size smaller than you normally wear. I did just that and it was to small. The next size up was perfect. So what I have found is that the jacket size that fit me the best was the same size shirts that I wear, XL. The best comparison that I found is that they are sized like Carhartt sweatshirts.Now to the velcro on the cuffs and neck. The idea is great, but they really need to make the soft side longer. How they are now is that the neck is to tight and the cuffs are to loose.When I tried this on, it was over a hoodie and the jacket had the liner in and man, it took only a few seconds to feel the heat increase. So just based that that, I have high hopes this jacket will keep me warm.Update:I think this jacket gets better as it gets broken in.I have worn it in cold weather ( below zero with wind chills) and it kept me toasty warm.I have has worn it in extremely wet weather. So wet in fact that the outer shell was sopping wet and it weighed like 20 pounds. But the moisture never penetrated the liner and still kept me warm.For those reasons, I think the jacket was a great deal for $100 bucks.

The Propper M65 fieldjacket is not made in USA, but in China !The jacket is made of sturdy 50-50 nylon-cotton material.It is NOT a perfect copy of original the US army jacket.And also the jacket needs some work, the velcro closure of the sleeves are mounted on wrong place.You can not adjust the sleeves far enough, and the cold comes in at the wrists.Buttons inside the jacket are not good sewn.The size large-long fits me OK (loose fit), my length is 195 , weight 80 kgs.But the model of large-long is not my taste, I do not like it.I have paid 100 euros for this jacket, which is normal price, in US the price is 90 dollars.I would NOT buy this jacket again, I should have returned the jacket....For half the price you can get a Brandit (picture2), good price-quality.And for the same price you can get a Helikon-Tex jacket (picture 3), a by far better jacket, ande the best copy of the original available on the market.*Update 4 dec 2024: I use this jacket every evening for walking with the dog, for winter-use very good. Because of the larger size "large-long", the jacket is much warmer then the "large and xlarge - regular" jackets that I own; the sleeves are longer, and the jackets reaches further down over the hips.So, I changed from 3 to 4 ****, and a thumbs up for winter-use 👍

This is actually my 2nd Propper M65. I bought my first one about 12 years ago at the local Army Surplus. I suspect the store owner would get his shipment in and split the jacket and liner so that he could sell them separately since the one from there did not come with liner. Anyway, after 12 years I guess I kinda 'outgrew' my old jacket and hadn't been able to wear it for the last 3 or 4 years....just a big snug. So I went up a size this time and it fits great. If you don't want a really baggy jacket, buy one size smaller than you would a 'civilian' jacket, as these are designed to fit over bulky layers of clothing.I've had an M65 in my closet ever since I was in the Army, and I can't imagine not having one. Propper makes a very good version, though maybe not quite as tough as the ones I was issued in the military. I also chose to go with the black. (my other Propper was also black.)I did have to roll up the sleeves one cuff, they were a little long. I'll probably have to have some alteration made on the sleeves. I don't think it will effect the liner much though since the buttons are above where I would have the cuff hemmed. Should work out just fine. Not the jackets fault....I'm short and wide. lol.When I was in the army these coats were so versatile. Without liner, light and easy to move in. Would keep out a light rain if need be. In Winter with the liner, warm and comfortable. Mine was used as coat, Pillow at night when we were in the field, sometimes blanket if I didn't have my poncho and woobie with me. It was a key piece of Kit that you didn't go anywhere without!BTW, I still have the old Propper M65. It's a little faded but still in great condition. Probably going to give it to a friend of mine, who like most of us, ls living on a tight budget.
