5 lb of stainless steel from this material supplier's drop pile. Total weight came in at 6 lbs for $17. From Mcmaster-carr, the cost would have been anywhere from $92 - $107 (+S/H) depending on a few pieces being either 304/316.I'd say it's a fair deal for some welding samples, miscellaneous fabrication stock.

I purchase several things on Amazon and was giving pretty in-depth reviews. From this point on, here's the new agenda…. if it works as advertised, is well made, meets or exceeds the description, is a value, and arrives in a fair amount of time, it will get a "star rating" equal to what my expectations were/are. If it doesn't meet these criteria, then I will most definitely and descriptively tell the short comings of the products and you as a consumer will not have to go through the trouble of buying the product without some background knowledge. If the sell pulls that item and relists under another description, I will put the exact same review on the seller's feedback page. Sellers have done this a couple of times in the past, and I was true to my word then as well as now. DR

I ordered a 5lb brass box and it arrived considerably heavier😃. I ain’t gonna say how heavy because I don’t want them to stop doing it! I opened the box to find the pictured selection, which is great for my purposes and there was a small piece of silicon bronze round bar in there to boot! I hadn’t seen silicon bronze before and thought it would make some beautiful stuff so I promptly ordered several pounds of it. If that was a sales tactic, it definitely worked on me! If you need small quantities of metal for your projects, this is the way to go. Less expensive than my local metal stores and a way better selection and they clearly take care of their customer. Highly recommend!

it says rods and bars but it didnt say anywhere that you mostly get rod hollow bars not happy with it but i will figure out a way to use it and i did get 1 bar that was nice size other than that i will not be buying it again
