About this item

  • Maple Top with Flame Maple Veneer
  • 85/15 “S” pickups, designed to deliver remarkable clarity and extended high and low end
  • String-through bridge design for strong, resonant tone
  • 22- fret maple neck with a rosewood fretboard

Built with a longer 27.7” scale length, the SE 277 is perfect for heavier, more aggressive guitar playing. But this is no one-trick pony. The 277’s 85/15 “S” pickups were designed to deliver remarkable clarity and extended high and low end, allowing the 277 to handle blues and funk with flair as well. Additional appointments include a string-through bridge design for strong, resonant tone. Whether you’re interested in rocking a clean tone, picking bass lines beneath higher melodies on one guitar, or chugging out the heaviest drop-tuned riffs, the SE 277 offers versatility in a reliable package for players looking to push the envelope.

I took a chance on a "minor damage" returned guitar from Amazon Resale and lucked out. Despite the modest price there was not a mark on it and the setup was perfect--frets, string height, intonation, everything. I know PRS SE guitars are kinda known for this and glad to see Amazon didn't get in the way.The flaming on the maple top is very subdued, and I wonder if the first purchaser returned it for that reason. It's a great, versatile guitar, able to go from doom to Dixie with the help of the coil tap switch and fairly middle of the road (eq-wise) and articulate sounding pickups.I prefer it with 13-62 strings vs the 14-68s it shipped with, but other than that, wouldn't change a thing.

The guitar has a feature I was interested in where you can change the pickups from humbucker to single coil, however the pickups themselves are terrible. The sound is so muddy and for an $800+ guitar there is no excuse for this sound issue.

Loving this new axe! Was using a Hagstrom Viking baritone and now Ill never look back. Better intonation, tuning stability, and playability

Guitar sounds great out of the box. The intonation is spot on and the pickups sound great. My only complaint and the reason for -1 star is that the frets are very sharp on the sides. I have filed them down a bit, but for PRS (even SE) this shouldn't be an issue.

This guitar is absolutely a machine, I put smaller gauged strings on and the playability of this guitar is endless rocked out for 3hrs when she came best guitar I've played on in a while fretboard is a great action guitar the harmonics scream. And the functionality is endless I'm so happy I purchased this guitar instead of a hellraiser due to not having a tremolo and changing strings myself and not having to reset the tremolo every time I change strings Great Buy!
