Why do pulley have magnetic properties?
Pulley are often made of 304 stainless steel, which may have slight magnetic properties due to the transformation of some austenite to martensite during the manufacturing process. It is important to note that in general,304 stainless steel is classified as an austenitic stainless steel and is considered non-magnetic.
How do I determine if a pulley is made of 304 stainless steel?
By adding 304 stainless steel identification solution onto the surface of the product and applying a weak electrical current for a chemical reaction, if there is a brownish color change on the surface, it can be preliminarily determined that the product is made of 304 stainless steel material. Note: This method is only used for preliminary identification of material type and cannot determine specific composition and quality.

Photos appeared to have much cleaner production surface details than identical stat pulleys that cost slightly less, so I went with my impression of higher quality. In person, there is nothing better, and if being picky, the pics may even seem a bit misleading in craftsmanship. Inconvenience aside though, primary issue was function. The wheel around the axil struggled to roll smoothly and would commonly get stuck under more than light loads (still plenty under max load) and rope would wedge into the side with sliding friction instead of rolling over the wheel as any pulley intends. It's not horrible, but bad enough- I'd suggest a different brand.

These are strong little pulleys. They make it easier for me to hang the bike from the ceiling and safe space in the garage.

_We need to move an old roto-tiller to a new location. The "Twours Pulley 304 Stainless Steel Single Pulley Block M32 Small Heavy Duty Swivel Bearing Pulley System for Rigging, Lifting, Cargo Transportation,Gym Equipment (M32 2PCS) (M32, 2PCS)" couple with a very heavy duty lifting rig and the two pulleys working together. We are able to move it onto a "dolly-like", and than able to move it to a new location and onto a stand getting ready to be work-on. The two stainless steel work together so smoothly, they have a rating of 550lb, we decided to leave it where its at to be a secondary/ back up pulley. --
