As a drainage guy in Canada mitred drains are hard to come by I had to order one of these in a pinch. First off the price is not even close to reasonable. Second they don’t even send you a coupler to attach another 4 inch to it. I had to go to 2 different stores to find the right one. Cool product but if you are going to ask for big bucks make it easy for the user.

I have a corner of my house that ends up with standing water against the foundation. This is obviously bad, so I installed an irrigation box that I could put a sump pump inside. I ran the output from the sump pump across the yard away from the house for it to be released. I wanted something that looked good and wasn't just a hose sticking out of the ground. Enter this emitter. Bought it and used some adapters to tie into the sump pump hose output. The pictures show it installed in the hill about 40ft from my house in the back corner, where it will flow naturally around the side of my house. As of now, it has been used a half a dozen times over the past 6 months without issue. With the grate and how it is angled, I have not had any kind of buildup in there either, which is nice.

Bought this for a client's drainage that daylighted on a hill. We were very happy with how strong it was. It's a little pricey but we were so happy with the quality.

Installed easy, and is a very heavy pvc construction. I don’t doubt if a car accidentally hits it in the driveway it will survive.

I had two options - dig a lot more or find something functional that looked nice to drop in the yard where it can be seen and needs to be mowed over. Since I can always dig more, decided to try this. Works well and is overall pretty sturdy. The screw holes for the cover plate seem like they might give out eventually, but I'm sure that can be fixed in the field if needed. However, I'm going to knock it slightly because of a combination of price and length. While it solves one problem others don't due to the angle of the drain cover at something like 30 degrees, if you think about how that makes the terrain and your drain line poking out of it look, it is rather shallow right behind the cover since it's not a steep grade. Since you need to put a PVC coupler right there, that makes it very dodgy to dig into a profiled hill and make it look perfect with turf right up to the top of the grate. If they made one with an extra 6" of length so you could put the coupler further into the hill, this would be perfect. So as it comes to cost, if this one were cheaper and therefore the shorter 'cheap' one, it would be fine, but for the premium price I would want the extra length to bury the coupler better for a shallow slope.

I used these on buried downspout drains. My yard slopes quite a bit and these taper well with the slope. They are very sturdy but also pricey but they fit my need.

Needed a safer cap on my sump pump outlet pipe. Mine was just 4” pipe that had become jagged from lawnmower traffic. Couldn’t believe that exactly what I needed was pre made. Seems pricey but way cheaper than a twisted ankle or a cut foot because mine is in the direct path to our swimming pool

I hadbeen researching drain emitters for my downspouts into a drainage ditch and found the 2 on Amazon. They are both pretty expensive for what they are, so I ordered both to do my own comparison. This one and the other one that is currently on Amazon which has a slightly darker grill. This PumpSpy model won hands down and is $20 cheaper.1. PumpSpy is much heavier in hand. PVC is slightly thicker, but still SCH 40 sized.2. PumpSpy grill is heavier-duty and I was unable to flex the grill slats. The other model bent. No way you could drive a mower on it. I wouldn't drive on either, but things happen.3. PumpSpy screws are recessed and do not go through bottom of the PVC like the other model did.4. With the right adapter from Menards, I was able to easily go from this pipe to corrugated 4" drain pipe. Fit very snug in the PVC.Adapter Info: FLEX-Drain® Pipe Connector, Model Number: ADP53302, Menards SKU: 6893768
