I uae this for puppies and sometimes nursing moms (small breed).Love the "extras" too. Would recommend.

Meant for Small animals or very small breed pups or kitten. It's been great for what we needed it for. It's helped all kinds of little Animals recover.

I purchased this item to help care for some foster kittens that I had gotten when they were about 1 day old. I picked this specific item because it had both a heating pad and a light to warm them. While it is easy to assemble (only took about 10 minutes and most of that was removing bubble wrap from different components) and sturdy enough for some kittens that aren't mobile yet, the heating pad is absolute garbage. I had it on the high setting (141) overnight and the thermometer that comes with everything registers the temperature is at about 88. I had been afraid to leave it on that high for such a long period as I didn't want to burn the kittens so I was checking on them every hour during the night for either feedings or to monitor the heat and possibly turn it down. It was never necessary to turn it down.I'm going to be looking for another heating pad that can fit inside this incubator that will have better temperature regulation. I have another one already, but it is far too large for the interior of the incubator and I don't want one of the kitten getting stuck between layers of it if I were to fold it to fit.

Thankfully our frenchie & her newborn puppies were not harmed by this. The temperature controller itself got so hot that it burned me, yet the pad was barely warm. I’m so glad I noticed before it started a fire.

It was easy to put together for the amount of stuff that you get with it. The price is reasonable, but the height is too short even for a teacup Yorky he cannot stand inside. It would be OK for new born puppies or baby chickens.
