Great fire place! Worth spending the extra money for it. Gives off good heat in our family room. Our only complaint is not all the buttons on the remote work.

This is attractive & fun at low price. Play with remote to change all the different flame colors. Remote does need battery replacement often.

This is the third PuraFlame fireplace I have purchased. (The first one was 5 years ago, and it still looks and works great). I did lots of research before deciding on this brand. This one is the most realistic looking. We have a real wood burning fireplace on the main level by which our cat loves to get cozy and warm herself. This one looks so real she sits near it even when the heat option isn’t running! It is the perfect addition to our new basement media room. The heat feature is great. It is easy to use and was easy to install. All 3 we installed were in new construction, so we planned ahead and put in a dedicated electric line just to be sure all would work well. We did have a problem for a bit with the smaller one in the basement bedroom because the thermostat wasn’t working and it kept shutting off. After consulting the manual, we did a reset of the unit and it has continued to work fine since. I would definitely recommend the purchase of this fireplace.

Well packaged no fuss install. Good instructions for crystal installation for your wife lol. I’m not kidding. Better value than local fireplace stores that can now get back to being practicing gangsters.

I own 4 other electric fireplaces besides this one and this one is by far the best. Heat works great now that the seller has helped me figure out how to get it to go on by the remote by not having the temperature on there. It is beautiful with stones and realistic logs. Has tons of colours even the stones at the bottom there is a setting that changes them to all the colours. I love the blue flame and orange but do use them all to switch it up. Bottom has a variety to choose from which is awesome! I get so many compliments and the size was perfect for the stone wall I had built for it. Would definitely buy this one again. Was tempted to replace all the others but obviously that would get expensive lol.

Just finished my install. I have to say I'm very happy with this fireplace so far. I think it's a pretty good 3d flame effect. I haven't set the logs or crystals up yet because I still have to mount my TV and plan on removing the insert when I do that. Remote control works good and is easy to use. I was surprised with the heat output. If you have realistic expectations you'll be happy with the amount of heat. It's not going to bake out a 200 sq ft room, but I could feel the heat blowing from across the room standing about 8-9 feet away which is where the couch will be. I didn't buy it for the heat but was impressed. I mounted mine in a fireplace surround that I made. Installation can be tricky if you plan on doing a stone fireplace surround, since even the thinnest stone that I found varied up to around 7/8ths of an inch. I ended up using a rustic wood look laminate flooring for the surround instead. My one complaint would have to be that you can't adjust the brightness of the multicolored LED strip. It's very bright, lights up my whole mantle which might be distracting if you're watching TV. As I mentioned earlier I haven't installed the crystals or logs yet, so that might help reduce some of the light output. One other thing you should know is that if you plan on running the full heat it requires a dedicated 15amp circuit or you might end up tripping the breaker associated with the outlet you plug into. I had this room rewired last year and it's and it's a 20amp circuit with nothing else running on it aside from a couple small lamps and the TV which hardly draw any power. Just something to keep in mind.

Addendum: I see so many questions about actual dimensions of the insert and clearance. You can download the Pdf of the owner's /installation manual and it shows all the dimensions. I've added a couple of photos of those pages, and a photo of the wall showing the 2x4 frame before I covered it with drywall.I've had this for two years now, and I LOVE this fireplace. It costs about 1/4 of what I paid for a more expensive unit from another company, and has more/better features. This one allows you to select a wide range of colors to light the crystal bed, blues, reds, greens, purples, white, so you can give a different look to the room. The flames are adjusted separately and can be all orange, orange and blue, or all blue. It's mesmerizing to watch. The flames look similar to what you'd see in those modern gas fireplaces. Not as random as a wood fire, but not fake-looking, either. I wanted a unit that could be inset into the wall for a flush look, any many units don't allow that. The heat vents out the front on top, so this unit is designed to be flush mounted. Pretty easy to install, just build a 2x4 frame to the opening size described in the manual. It only requires 6" of depth. You'll need to wire an outlet box inside the wall, so it helps to have a power source nearby. It's convenient to use, just turn it on or off like a light, no stoking a fire, no gas lines to run. And you can have a fire even when it's a hot summer night! Very modern, sleek look with the all-glass front panel. It's completely silent as long as the heater fan is not on. I highly recommend this unit.
