About this item

  • Jacaranda mimosifolia tree seeds
  • Germination Method: soak the seeds in lukewarm water overnight or 24 hours.
  • Jacaranda trees produce foot-long, pyramid-shaped clusters of blue or lavender flowers in spring and early summer; the tree's long bloom period may last for more than a month.
  • Comes with complete planting & growing instructions!

The Jacaranda Tree is a Beautiful Tropical varietal that Boasts Clusters of Fragrant Purple Trumpet Shaped Blooms. Native to South America, the jacaranda tree makes for an excellent shade (or street) tree, thanks to its fern-like foliage, whose leaves can grow up to 20 inches in length. Typically planted somewhere between fall and early spring, the jacaranda tree can be considered either semi-evergreen or deciduous, depending on the climate it's grown in. The tree grows quickly adding up to 10 feet a year in the first few years of its life and most of the blooming occurs in late spring to early summer (though in warmer areas, the tree can flower at any time). That being said, only mature jacaranda trees have flowers.

Absolutely nothing germinated with both packages!!! Followed the directions exactly as described. Worst part is I got charged for not returning the original seeds that never germinated? What was I to send back?

Shipping was quick, that got one star. HOWEVER, the germination rate was sadly ZERO even though I have a green thumb and followed directions carefully. Not even a sign of being a potential plant. SO disappointed, I will not the company name and be more careful in the future.

Waiting to see if the seeds sprout. Still in the soaking process. Seeds appear to be healthy.

out of maybe 20 I planted, about 10 sprouted, which is pretty darn good cause who needs that many trees? some of them have died off for various reasons but we've got a few going strong. been misting them every day til they get a bit bigger.

Using a heating pad. Trying a wet paper towel in a zip lock bag. Will update this review.Updating to show the seeds are viable. See the picture. The package said 10 seeds but actually came with 40. Assume it’s so you have enough to screw up and try again. Now just hope I don’t mess up the next part of getting them to sprout real leaves. Will update again to show progress.

These seeds did not even sprout. I followed the growing instructions to the tee and nothing, not even a glimmer of a sprout. Very disappointing, especially since I ordered these same seeds from a different company when living at my prior address and they came up very easily. Total let down!!!
