Ok pin is stainless steel seems decent, arm seems ok, but bushing are steel. So the bushing being steel will rust. So I have to take back apart and completely redo my boat because I don't want to redo when in water.

The upper pivot bushings are not bronze like the factory bushings. In fact, they aren't bushings at all! They are made from a slice of cheap steel tubing and they left the internal weld seam in them, if I had installed these, the pin wouldn't have fit in the hole. So now I'm down for another week, waiting on parts, I ordered the quicksilver bushings. The upper pin has a very sharp edge on it that could cut the seal during install, so I had to grind a chamfer on the edge with a dremel, not a huge deal, but they could have done that easily during machining. There is also no long stainless cotter key for the lower aluminim pivot pin. I dont think that was shown in the pictures, just a heads up. The rest of the kit is pretty decent, steering arm casting looks good and it is cast iron. My original upper pin had no visible wear, probably could have just replaced the bushings, upper seal and the arm.Overall this kit is ok for the price, just order the factory bushings and save yourself some time.

The steering linkage arm connection hole was misaligned but we were able to modify and make it work.

I didn’t know what to expect from this kit because the original parts mercruiser would be around $800 but i was surprised of how good quality it actually is. Tolerance are tight, pin is stainless, arm is cast iron and solid. Work perfectly and solved my side to side outdrive slack. The only thing didn’t convince me is the bolt that goes trough the steering arm replaced with a stainless one. Only time will tell but for now it’s great
