Had to buy these because I forgot and left my last pair at a house I sold. The build of these are heavy enough and it feels solid. The last pair I had were from a big box store and through Amazon these were a better value.

I bought these to set large format tiles. I only used them for a few tiles. Then switched to using my fingers, which was faster and easier IMO. Here's how. Imagine the previously set tile is on your left and newly set tile on your right. Put a wedge in the spacer from the right side pointing left. You want to push the wedge to the left to help pull the new tile towards the previously set tile. With your left hand fingers bend the spacer to the left. While pushing the wedge into it using your right hand, push the spacer with left hand back to the right. It will ratchet up the serrations on the wedge. Now repeat this a couple times working the wedge further into the spacer until it's tight. If the tile lips are out of whack I suppose you could use the pliers, but I couldn't get them tighter with the pliers. BTW, it looks like screw spacers and baskets are becoming more popular, so you may want to check that option out.

The product does work and beats just using your hands. The issue is with the bolt and nut for the pivot. This keeps coming loose and then causes the pliers to twist and not function well. Maybe use of a rivet would be better

These work well with both Lash styles, wide and narrow. Quality product, sturdy.Unfortunately I still prefer having the feel and modulation of using my fingers to tighten. Good price in comparison to retail.

There are cheaper versions of this tool but they are generally not that great. Tile jobs are a one-way trip (once that thin-set cures) so why risk it? This tool is heavy-gauge steel, works smoothly and has a comfortable grip. It's also easily adjustable. No complaints and very glad I got it for my DIY tile work.

I bought this tool to tighten the leveling guides on my tile floor, the adjustable tong would bend instead of pushing the slide in the slot. I had to get a old pair that I just found to finish the job.

Doesn't grab onto the shims very well and tends to slide over the plastic spacers between the tiles and will often break them off thus rendering that tile spacer useless.I wouldn't buy it again

I tested this item on smaller tiles and it just sunk them but for bigger and heavier tiles it works quite well (12x24" for reference). The process of pulling them together did leave marks on my limestone tiles which are not as noticeable. At the end of the day I care a lot more about the tiles being level than the small marks and leveling it does well.
