My prop is a mercury black max, 3 seasons, low hrs on 60 hp elpt, 13 spline motor.I had to replace the hub as when I maintained it this year, the hub fell out and was in pieces. As you can see, my prop has very little wear, no evidence of hitting anything. I am on the upper Mississippi River, and it is virtually impossible not to hit objects in the water, as any boater knows. Especially while fishing structure or shallow water.Disappointed on the apparent lack of durability of this stock hub, but my only option is to replace the hub with the same, or buy a different prop. If this happens again without hitting something, I'm going to be in the mkt for a different brand. Until then, I will have a spare and tools on the boat!

Good quality parts- extra kit purchased to have on the boat in case of emergency. I bought this engine used with no manual- warning to owners- make sure you have an extra parts kit for your stainless "Vengeance" prop.

Looks like good quality..but don't buy for a yamaha 40 hp. Not even close to fitting like the description states. Gonna collect dust in the garage now.

Used it for a 2013 40hp Mercury. It comes with o-ring which is new. Had to add o-ring on props that come with the kit.

Come on Mercury/Quicksilver. You can do better than that. I give it 3 stars for one major reason. First off, I will give my overall opinion before I say what the 3 stars. Overall the hub kit is nice, and is very easy to install. Just follow the directions exactly as they say. The hub can be inserted incorrectly if not looking closely. Now then...here is why I give it 3 stars. The rubber o-ring. Why? I couldn't figure out what the o-ring was for exactly, or why it needed it. Here is why. It is a spacer. However, as a few other reviews I've read said...the propeller made a chatter after they installed the kit. I believe I found this to be the o-ring. It is a very simple fix. You'll need to go somewhere, and get a thicker one. The chatter is caused by the space left between the o-ring, and the cap below the lock nut. It's not much, but it's enough to make the prop slide back, and forth enough to be a problem. I have an o-ring kit so I was ok. Once I put a thicker ring in there was no more slack at all. The propeller worked just fine after that. The least Mercury/Quicksilver can do is put a few thicknesses of rings in the box.
