The Quincy Lab 10AF forced-air laboratory oven has a bi-metal thermostat for evaporating, annealing, and testing applications, and drying, baking, curing, heat-treating, and sterilizing parts. Forced air ovens provide uniform heat distribution within the chamber, and facilitate drying applications. The oven has a 0.6 cubic foot/17 liter capacity and a maximum temperature of 450 degrees F/232 degrees C. The oven has double-wall construction that is insulated with high-density mineral wool to maintain constant temperature and keep exterior cool to the touch. The bi-metal thermostat is dial-controlled, and the on/off rocker switch is illuminated to indicate power status. Low-watt density elements are compact to provide quick run-up and recovery times, and are Incoloy-sheathed for high-temperature heating and resistance to corrosive solutions. A perforated heat shield absorbs radiant heat to provide temperature uniformity and even heat distribution. The scratch-resistant hammered exterior is abrasion and corrosion resistant, and high-impact thermoplastic handles are durable and remain cool.

This little oven has excellent air circulation. We bypassed the bi-metal thermostat (we still use it as an upper limit safety switch) and added a thermocouple and solid state controller to achieve better than 0.1 degree stability over days. It settles within 5 minutes of a door opening because of the circulation fan. We bought and modified two of these for the lab.
