It is compact and light. But takes a lot of pumping to displace much water.

Great for what I need it for

Using it to pump water out of bilge of daysailer sailboat. (19ft). Pumping into a bucket. However the hose is so short and rigid that it’s difficult to pump and hold the hose into the bucket at the same time. A longer and less sturdy hose would have helped. Might work OK for you if just using for kayak with very low profile. The pumping action is fairly hard, easy to pump the water up and put, but the back stroke has a lot of resistance through the check valve probably.
