Heard about these arrow heads from different people. Used them for crossbow season. But no luck. Sadly it means I cannot give you a cutting score since I didn’t have any luck during the season.Easy to install, lightweight, and didn’t pop open when carried out in the field.

I’ve took two deer with these and they both dropped within 40 yards. Creates a huge wound cavity and cuts really well. Won’t use any others

I'm shooting these out of a Killer Instinct 370 Bone Collector edition and use 30-06 String Snot and Rail Snot for lubricating the string/rails. Bolt is Carbon Express "Mayhem" 20". I am using the 125 grain Rage Crossbow X 2 blade broadhead with the red shock collars and metal rings that came with the heads in the package. I have seen others post (in 2017 dated posts) that there were different color shock collars to be matched to the speed of the crossbow. I used the red ones that came in the package and have not seen any alternate colors available for this head. I ordered a rebuild kit for these heads that will allow 3 complete rebuilds (tip, blades, screws, shock collars and rings I believe, kit has not arrived yet) and I think that also has red shock collars.I was planning to sit with my crossbow tonight but when I tested one of the heads on a Black Hole 22" soft, layered foam target the bolt passed completely through (from 20 yards) without the blades deploying. I slightly loosened the dead from the bolt so that instead of it being extremely tight it was snug. I followed the instructions in the package on how to assemble the head correctly, adhered to lining one of the blades up with the arrow on one of the petals and also watched some videos to be sure I wasn't doing anything incorrectly. I fired again and got the same result, this time it passed through and embedded about an inch into a straw bale. Still, the head did not deploy or cut the shock collar.I hunted with my compound bow, but when I got home tonight I draped an old tanned deer skin over my target and fired the head again from 20 yards with the head tightened extremely tight onto the bolt as it was the first time I tested. This time the head performed admirably and cut a solid 2' wide gash in the deer hide. It penetrated the hide and most of the target but not a complete pass-through. But the results were great. The head opened on impact with the hide as the 2 blades forced deer hair through the hide and into the front of the target with a clear 2" cut on the front and back of the target along with the deer hide. I feel confident that these heads will work well, although I am going to continue testing to ensure that the point of impact remains consistent with field points. So far they seem pretty good.I'm waiting for some illuminated nocks so I can get a final weight on my hunting bolt setup and shoot a few over my chronograph and get a velocity average so I can calculate kinetic energy. I think for hunting the thick brush with under 30 yard shots these should be hitting plenty hard and giving fast kills and great blood trails if I do my part.I mainly wanted to leave this review to illustrate that it is normal for these not to open on targets that only provide limited resistance. If you need to test yourself and you don't have a deer hide (or an ugly leather jacket you don't care about) maybe try shooting a gallon jug of water in front of your target. I would guess that should provide enough resistance to activate the shock collar and deploy the blades on impact. Make sure you have the blades aligned with the tabs of the shock collar and not in the notches. If you look carefully there is an arrow on the shock collar showing where to align the blade, they should be centered on the petal between the notches in the shock collar, NOT aligned with the shock collar notches. It looks like a common thing some users have gotten wrong based on forum posts I saw. If the instructions aren't clear there are plenty of videos on the subject.I only gave 4 stars because I haven't used these to take a live animal yet. I will upgrade to 5 stars based on how they perform during my hunt.

I’ve tried a lot of expandable broadheads but this year I switched to the Rage Crossbow X on advice from a friend. I am so glad I did. This is the best and most reliable broadhead I’ve ever tried. I had a complete pass through on a large whitetail buck at 50 yards. Exit hole was over two inch’s . That buck bleed out in seconds with a blood trail a blind man could follow.

Took my second buck with a Rage, 125 Grain "RAGE Crossbow X, 2-Blade Archery Arrow Broadhead". The deer was right under me and quartering away, so the shot needed to be a bit far back and high to range forward and down. The buck was dead in less than a minute and left a blood trail a blind person could have followed. The near side hide showed the blade opened as advertised. The Broadhead smashed through a nearside rib, through a bit of the stomach, through the lungs and across the heart to exit on the far side just behind the leg where the heart is, leaving a gaping wound there too. I found the Broadhead and cleaned it up. It is completely intact, and believe it could be used again: still sharp, and pivots as it should--it looks like it has never been used. Install the broadheads on your shaft exactly as the INSTRUCTIONS say (YouTube it if unsure). Lastly, check your broadheads every now and then to make sure they are snug to the shaft collar and the blades are not resting on a collar notch. Simple stuff.

The only issue I have is with the arrows on the lock collars for lining up with blades a little hard to see should have a colored dot or line would make it easer to align for those of us with older eye's. Found the arrows and marked with fine tip marker problem solved.

I'm an avid hunter and have used a lot of different hunting supplies. I started off using "fixed" broad heads and had a lot of trouble with them. First of all, you can't practice with the mechanical broad head. It will ruin them and your target. I bought field points that matched the grains of my "fixed" broad head and was dead on the bulls eye of my target. I was dead on from 0-80 yards with my field points. No joke! The first deer I shot was right at 20 yards with my "fixed" broad head and it ran about 100 yards and died. The next 3 deer I shot at with my "fixed" broad head I was unable to find due to running so far and losing blood trail. I never shot over 30 yards for any of these deer. That's when I hit my hunting low point of my life. I'm not joking I was pretty much depressed over losing these deer. I firmly believe in eating what you hunt and it made me sick to lose those deer. After losing the 3rd deer I decided to shoot a "fixed" broad head into my target. I was shocked at the results. It was about 8 inches low and about 3 inches off center. I shot another and same thing. Changed over to my field points (keep in mind same grain) and they were dead on...That's when I decided to try the Rage Mechanical broad head. They are a little bit pricey but they're worth it. Every pack gives you a practice tip and I think that makes all the difference. The practice tip is identical to the mechanical broad head but it's just "fixed" to where in won't open. Oh, and it's blue. Since changing over to the Rage broad head I've never lost another deer and the longest they're ran was about 30 yards. Highly recommend! It'll change the way you hunt forever! It did for me!
