My husband and I are fairly competitive pool players, we play in a pool league every week, as well as a separate tournament every Friday night at our local bar. We LOVE this breaking cue, it's got a great weight to it, and sends the balls flying. Often makes for a great match! Highly recommend it, and at this price, you can't go wrong. We made our money back after 2 tournaments, plus some 😅 and I credit it to our great starts with this cue!

Definitely one of the higher quality heavy cues you can buy - had it for 6 months + no issues - heavy hitter.

I have purchased this cue twice. On a break the first cue broke off clean about 3 inches back from the tip. This cue lasted about 6 years. The second cue which is about 5 months old, has a rattle in the main joint, the joint between the shaft and the butt. The joint on the bottom for jump shots seems ok. The defective joint does not allow for a solid hit on the break. All the power is lost in the loose joint. I have contacted the seller but have not received a response. When this cue worked properly, it was great. 25oz delivers a fantastic hit, till it doesn’t. I have two Viking cues that are each 45 years old and are still in great shape. I guess you get what you pay for.Revised 5/2/2023I talked with Steve at Progear and at his direction I checked the weight bolt at the bottom of the cue. It was just loose enough to cause a vibration when striking the butt against the floor. I tightened the bolt and eliminated the vibration. Tonight I will test it in league play and see if that makes a difference.Progear responded to me in a timely manner and worked with me to resolve the issue. I will certainly use them in the future.

This is the first breaking cue I have ever owned and so I do not have anything to compare it to. However, it works well, is sturdy, seems well constructed, looks good, and the 3 piece construction is nice for situations where you may have to use 2 pieces for limited space. I definitely notice a difference breaking with this cue. I have not tried using it to jump balls so can't speak to its ability in that regard. But I always seem to get a good break with this stick. There is noticeably more power and ball spread. If something happens to this stick I will definitely buy another Rage heavy hitter. The extra weight and slightly bigger tip seem to make all the difference

Breaks like an absolute dream and good for jumping also. Can effortlessly get a very powerful but controlled break, consistently making the wing ball in 9ball and holding the cue ball in the middle of the table. Fast delivery from the states to UK

Update: After using this for a few months, I've remained very happy with the cue. The question of whether to use a light weight cue (so that you can generate more cue speed during a break) or a heavier cue (so that it has more kinetic energy at impact assuming a given velocity) is certainly a valid question. I can't tell you which route will make you more comfortable, but assuming that you prefer a heavier break cue, then this is a solid choice at a very reasonable price.I don't hit breaks as fast as many players, so I'm not as hard on this cue as some may be, and thus can't comment as well on this cue's durability. That being said, I haven't noticed any warping, the phenolic tip hasn't shown any signs of premature wear, and the cue plays the same as it did when I bought it. The cue has a predictable and repeatable heavy hit, which is what I'm looking for in a break cue. Based on all of that, I'm sticking with my original 4 stars, and would still recommend this cue to anyone looking for a reasonably priced heavy breaker.------------------------------------------This cue is solidly built and is very nice for breaking. I don't use it as a jump cue even though it can be broken down as such, so I can't comment on how it works for that application. The phenolic tip makes miscues easier if you don't break close to the center of the cue ball, so be aware, but such a hard tip is nice for breaking. That being said, once I set the tip up to my liking, it performed quite well for me.Obviously the big point of this cue is its heaviness, and it is quite noticable in play. I have been pleasantly surprised by the feel of the heavy cue during breaking, but it does take a few strokes to get used to the weight of the stick if you are used to playing with a lighter cue.I would not hesitate to buy this cue again, and would recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive break cue. So, why didn't I give it 5 stars? Well, the quality of the wood and the overall fit and finish isn't as perfect as with more expensive cues, so I wouldn't say it was a perfect cue. I would, however, give it a 5/5 for value & price vs. performance. As long as your expectations are real then you should be quite happy with this cue.
