Rain Bird 8QC1 Matched Precipitation Rate Spray Nozzle, 90° Quarter Circle Pattern, 5' - 8' Spray Distance, 10° Trajectory. Trusted for decades, Rain Bird MPR Nozzles are installed by more contractors than all other brands combined. MPR Nozzles simplify the design process by allowing sprinklers with various arcs and radii to be mixed on the same zone while maintaining even water distribution rates. Non-corrosive plastic and stainless steel construction for long life. Stainless steel adjustment screw adjusts flow rate from .18 to .26 gallons per minute and spray distance from 5' to 8'. "Captured" screw slot prevents screwdriver slippage during adjustment. Nozzle sprays a 90° quarter circle pattern at a 10° trajectory and fits all Rain Bird sprinklers and shrub adapters. Fine mesh filter screen maintains precise radius adjustment and protects bottom orifice from debris. A wide selection of MPR nozzles is available so the distribution of water can be tailored to meet the unique and diverse needs of your landscape. I bought this because I wanted to reduce the spray length that my previous sprinkler heads threw. These are shorter, but the throw-reduction screw doesn't reduce the distance so much as create a finer spray. Not what I wanted. But they work well enough, and the throw distance is not a huge issue.

Exact size we needed to replace a cracked nozzle, minimal effort to switch out. Easy to adjust the spray distance in a smaller bed on a corner of our house.

It works. I am no longer watering the sidewalk. At the time I ordered I could not find another nozzle locally with small enough spray circle. Later found an adjustable version at Home Depot. However, I believe this nozzle gives a more even coverage. I am happy with the product.

Adequately sprays water AND stands up to the weed whacker! our yardmen kept using the weed whacker a little to liberally and breaking off the plastic piece that was on a previous version of these... so I bought this one and it is still standing strong!

this produced the perfect diameter spray as indicated, unfortunately for me the neighbor didn't see the head sticking up and shredded it with the lawnmower. I will buy this again!

I love RainBird Nozzles. I have also tried Toro and Hunter, but now have gone back to RainBird exclusively. I don't know why, but the big box stores in my area do not carry these 5' - 8' nozzles, only the 12' type. For me, this is the perfect pattern and throw. Nozzle comes with a new filter, which I recommend you replace at the same time as some filters are not interchangeable (e.g. Hunter is different in the hole size).
