Very secure. No one is getting in there without tools. It's spot welded on the hinge. That could be a little better, but it's pretty great.

Simple install. Quality is there however if someone really wanted to pry it open they could but would need to put in some work. Great to secure the pew pew. A 3rd of the price compared to a console safe. Worth the money.

Took me all of 10 minutes to install. I tried it with & without the removal bin and works perfect for both scenarios.No adjustment, cutting or spacers required.I'm 6' tall and with the seat in my driving position the door opens fine and does not touch the front seat back.I was concerned with all of the other remakes but my concern was for not.Quality material which makes it VERY difficult to break into.I wouldn't store valuable for an extended period but if I need to dash into a place that requires me to keep my valuables stored for a few hours then I would feel they are secure.Good place to keep your personal information as well. Protect from identity theft against the smash and grab.IMHO

This lock box lid for the floor board box in the backseat is a must have for anybody who needs to protect valuables or weapons (in places that you aren’t allowed to carry). It is extremely robust and installed fairly quickly.During the install, I didn’t have as easy of a time as the others on here. I installed it on a 2018 Ram Rebel 1500. All the holes lined up perfectly and I tried to install with and without the liner to see if it made a difference. I ended up installing without the liner and it works great. Fits my Glock 21 in the holster just fine. The problem came when I tried to lock the lid. The locking mechanism wouldn’t turn all the way because the metal bar that turns into the locking mechanism (or whatever that part is called) kept running into the sidewall of the truck box. I tried every orientation and couldn’t get the lock to turn all the way closed. Figured out after a bit that the bar that swings to lock it is quite a bit longer than necessary and I even dare to say that the lid came with the wrong lock by chance. So I took a saw and cut off about a half inch of the unnecessary part and tried again. That did the trick and now it works just as advertised!Yeah, it didn’t work right out of the box and did take a slight modification, but for what it’s worth I wouldn’t go without it. This is an absolute must and now it works like a charm. Wish I would’ve taken pictures to show.Conclusion: buy it!

Installation was a breeze. The only issue I have is with the original design/location of the in floor storage bins and being so tall I drive with the seat all the way back. The original lid contacts the back of the seat when the seat is all the way back. The Tuffy lid will open and contact the seat, and if you lift a little too far or with too much force it can get jammed against a plastic trim piece on the seat which took some work to get it loose. Otherwise a quick and easy solution to CA state law about securing a firearm in a vehicle. I doubt it would keep a determined criminal with a prybar or even a large/stout screwdriver, but what is 100% secure in this world.

This another Tuffy product that I have bought within the last month to go in my Ram 1500.It was really simple to install using the supplied screws. It dropped right in without any mods to the truck. I also left the storage liner inside and it fit fine. It sits nice and flat on the floor including the lock. The lid is made from fairly thick steel and the way the locking lid / frame is made, it would deter a would be smash and grab thief from just snatching your valuables and running off.I like the Tuffy Products so well that I have ordered the under seat storage lid with the combo lock.
