RS5000X Gas Shock, The core of this new and innovative shock from Rancho is the unique and patented rebound valving system and an advanced compression phase of the shock absorber. This proprietary process developed by the ride engineers at Rancho will elevate the overall handling and performance of your vehicle on and off-road. Each RS5000X shock is gas pressurized to 150 PSI.* The twin tube, gas pressurized shock has a variety of advantages including minimizing air-to-oil mixture that can cause foaming and shock fade. Gas pressurization also provides a mild boost of spring rate to the vehicle. The RS5000X series features a 2-1/4-inch diameter shock body. A larger shock body allows for increased fluid capacity to operate cooler and to increase vehicle control and performance at varying speeds and terrains. The RS5000X series combines a larger shock body with all-weather fluid, allowing the shock to withstand internal temperatures between -40 and 248 degrees Fahrenheit. The Rancho RS5000X series design includes patented progressive rebound and compression discs. At lower speeds or in the earlier stages of the shock's travel, an eccentric disc in the valve shim stacks will engage the valving at lower frequencies, helping to control the energy of motion as the cycle of the shock increases or decreases in its action. When hitting a pothole, off-road trail obstacle or similar activity, Rancho's Progressive Engagement Valving allows for early flow of fluid, helping to reduce harsh initial impacts and to control the flow of fluid in a progressive, gradual manner through the valving. During on- or off-road driving activities like washboarding or when travelling a rough fire road, the early flow of fluid helps to minimize a "rough" ride as the piston movement is able to glide through the initial travel motion of the shock with minimal ground impact or force. If needed, the Progressive Engagement Valving will further engage to maintain control and stability.

Perfect fit for a previous 4"lift on a jeep jku. No more clanking and banging. Now full articulation and a smooth quiet ride. Shipped quickly and a good price considering they were found in Canada.

These shocks are great over rough terrain, very soft and smooth. They’re not valved to soak very large bumps, so if you’re heading to the desert races I’d look elsewhere. But for leisurely driving trails this is one of the best shocks I’ve used. I can run washboard roads at decent speed without airing down, and asphalt seams are nearly unnoticeable. These are the qualities I was looking for in a shock, and I got exactly what I was looking for.Side note; I have these fitted on a JKUR with Teraflex leveling coils, 1” bump stop extensions, and factory length brake lines. For my setup, these shocks allow the most amount of travel in both directions, without bottoming out or overextending cover terrain. I initially installed the Rancho set for 0-2” lift but I’d overextend the shocks often while off-road. Now, the factory arms followed by the brake lines are my limiting factor.

Easy install. My jeep handles as it should now on the road. Performs great off road.

I have a 2011 JK 4WD, The rear shocks were difficult to install. Seems the bushings on the bottom end were BARELY larger than the spot it drops in. If you come across this issue....hear me out....I suggest grinding the sides down and it will slide in. Nothing was compromised, still in great condition. 👍 other then that. Easy install.

Installed on a 2007 JKU along with a Tera Flex 2.5 lift and love them!-If you're concerned about looks, either clear coat them or get some rattle can white the finish does not look very thikc.-I've had them off road several times and the perform great. Mostly OHV parks with some rock crawling and have enjoyed them and the ride there.

They look good and fit fine on my 2007 Wrangler with a 2.5" lift. They are a little too stiff, causing a bit of a harsh ride. I think this is common with heavy duty shocks but I wish they would tune them for a lighter vehicle like the Jeep. Why do proper shocks have to cost a fortune. After six months I see the paint is rubbing off from the red plastic shield on the rear shocks. Finish is not going to last long...

Do not buy these. Piss poor quality. Two out of 4 shocks. Dented and slightly bent shafts from the looks of them. Took picks. The other two shock had different shock covers and did not match. And made of different materials. The paint job was running and horrible. Looks like these were used shock and just repainted and sold. Bought these shocks from boostProject on amazon. Hmmm

Set of four, all good quality. Easy to install on my 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Replaced another brand that had 40000 miles on them. Great ride and handling after installation.
