So far so good. Needed to sand down the circumference to get it to go into the elbow. Other than that, seems like a decent product. Cost wasn't bad and I love the convenience of being able to get this via Prime as opposed to making a trip to Home Depot or Lowes. We will see how it holds up, as I hear that sewer gas and moisture will corrode stainless steel, worried about that, but won't be able to tell without the passage of time.

Though this product is both well made and durable, it didn't suit my individual purposes.

Perfect fit. Be sure to measure. Glad I found this to keep critters out of my vent. My vent sits low, close to my porch floor. Its an easy spot for little animals to get into. This will keep them out.

Never used the item, it was too big but I decided to keep it because it will come in handy for some other projects I’ll be implementing later.

The reviews that claim "it doesn't fit", didn't read the description. It is the same diameter as a 2" pipe, so it doesn't fit in the pipe, it fits in the different 2" pvc pipe fittings. In my application, I'm using it for a rain water collection system to catch larger items like leaves. I installed gutter leaf guards last year, but I'm still getting a few leaves in my downspout. So, I've added this onto a clean-out fitting so that it catches the leaves and I can open the clean out and easily pull them out. It fits snugly, just like a pipe would. I didn't put it all the way in so that I could use it to join the clean-out with the Tee that distributes the water to the different tanks. Works great! Exactly what I needed.Update: Catches leaves and bugs.

Perfect for 2" dia. vent & exhaust pvc piping on the outside ends on condensing style furnaces & water heaters. Just check to see if your pipes have an elbow or coupler on the end, and tap one of these right into the fitting's end.1. The stainless steel mesh can't be cut by insects, won't corrode.2. Putting the screen side closest to the end discourages insects from sheltering there.3. Once in, they are a bear to remove, even if they aren't glued.4. Excellent design and solid construction. My plumber originally installed a 3/4" pvc grid screen on on my pipe ends, plenty good enough for birds. But later he mentioned that during our local miller-moth bug season, customers sometimes call for service because the moths can plug the "innards" of a tankless water heater. One look at these stainless screen fittings, and I put them on on all my through-the outside wall mechanical pipes. LIKE THEM!

Simple yet perfect with zero time needed fkr install. These really should be installed by default on heating exhaust pipes.

Nice product. During this winter’s extreme cold snap I had problems with the cold air intake for my furnace being blocked by the very light snowflakes being drawn in and accumulating in my air intake. I changed the intake elbow to a tee and then put two of these in the ends of the tee to prevent summer bird’s nests and to discourage other pests. They installed easily and should do the job. In my case I nearly doubled the amount of intake air available so the screen is not causing a restriction that will affect the furnace or cause error codes at the thermostat . If your high efficiency furnace/heat pump is really sensitive to the amount of intake air available you may need to do the same thing I did. The minor decrease in the volume of air that will pass through the intake when you add the screened cover to a single intake pipe may create error codes unless you increase the available air like I did.
