Wash them to bring out their brilliant color. I use them to teach about the minerals that make up the sand on our local beach. I will put the garnet pieces in small clear capped tubes to add the minerals sets.

I wish the seller of this product would be more honest of what the product actually looks like this was a total disaster purchase and I am returning the item for a refund. I do not believe this is worth any stars. I am only putting one star since I cannot continue without doing this
