I use these for hiking inside a pair of Glacier Glove Ascension Bay. They help a lot with going downhill with trekking poles and holding to the top of the pole. I put the ring around my index finger. I thought the ring would fall apart quickly but they have actually lasted for months of weekly use. This only comes with one pad, so make sure to buy two if doing this.
