I bought this Bidirectional ESC to use for a school project and it didn't even come with a manual. I even emailed the manufacturer about obtaining a manual and never got a response. Its startup is terrible and gets hot way too fast. I do not recommend using this ESC at all. I recently bout the Shark G2 60 Amp esc and it works wonderfully.

Update to this review: ReadyToSky was good enough to send me a new ESC, even though it was out of Warranty. Thankyou!!I tested the new one provided by ReadyToSky, and it works perfectly! I am grateful they responded so quickly to help my situation!I will try out the new ESC once I receive it, and update review accordingly.I wanted to like this, but I shorted out and almost started on fire the first time I tried to use it. I bought two of these. One worked fin

If something seems too good to be true, it likely is. You'll be hard-pressed to find a 50A rated bidirectional ESC like this one at this price.I need 4 symmetrically bidrectional ESCs for my project. This is actually kind of hard to find. Most bidirectional ESCs seem to supply more forward current than backwards.I bought 4 of these ESCs to use with some Turnigy XK2845-1980KV motors and a 4s battery. Under no load, just experimenting with control signals, everything seemed great. But the slightest amount of load led to the motor getting smoked (i.e. the coils got so hot they melted the enamel leading to shorts--this kills the motor). I thought this was just random chance, so with another ESC and another motor I did the same test and smoked a second motor. They're twitchy--as far as I can tell my PWM signal is stable (using a micro controller and hardware PWM) yet at neutral throttle (50hz signal, 1.5ms on-time) they are twitchy.Further testing, same set up as before, all components within spec, led to the ESC entering a boot-loop (the start up chime kept playing over and over) before the ESC literally blew up. One of the big electrolytic capacitors blew.Others clearly report better success than I--I'm new to the hobbyist motor/ESC game so maybe I've messed up something royally and don't know it. But caveat emptor--I burned up two, nice, relatively expensive name-brand motors that are perpetually out of stock now and cannot replace.

For buyers that are building a drone/plane, beware that it is a Bidirectional ESC that doesn't have a calibration mode.

This ESC is NOT FOR DRONES. It is for helicopters and the ad should have stated this. As a result they burned up 3 motors, costing me $150 to replace.DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT FOR DRONES

For those of you using this ESC with an Arduino, you must write.microseconds of 1480 to initialize the esc on startup (neutral). This will then allow you to go reverse with values under 1480, and go forward with values above 1480.
