You get a lot of clay for the price. I'm new to clay, so this seems to work well, at least for a beginnner, like me.

I found this to be a sticky clay once it was kneaded. It also had a lot of bubbles show up after rolling it, and it wanted to stick to the roller more than the more common name-brand clays. Since it was so sticky, I tried it with mica powder stenciling and it appeared to adhere well, and cutting with clay cutters wasn't too much of an issue. But that was when the trouble began. When I used a blade to remove the clay from the work surface, it stuck so fast it smooshed the clay out of shape. I even tried the leftovers (marbled ones) on glass instead of plexi and it did the same thing. I ended up putting the whole thing in the freezer for about 10 minutes to try and get it hard enough to remove without distorting the pieces. It worked on the smaller ones as I could lift them off after getting the edge of the blade under the piece but the large ones still had problems and what should have been matching-shaped earrings were only sort of matching. I baked it at 235 degrees for 25 minutes and that seems to cure it. But it is a hard clay to work with, at least with this technique. Maybe it would work better being pressed into a silicone clay mold since it is not removed until it is baked right in the mold. But I would not buy this one again because it is so hard to work flat rolled pieces.

The luxury of having large amounts of polymer clay! I am being driven insane by these little 1.8 oz bricks. I use a LOT of white clay because I paint the products I make, and this is good quality clay in bulk. Polymer clay does not dry on its own; it has to be baked, and when it does, it shouldn't be rubbery or movable. This fits the bill in small pieces. I use them to make earrings. This clay takes impressions and cuts well, and holds paint. Seal painted clay with polyurethane and it'll be permanent and water-resistant

There are a lot of different kinds of poly clay and they each work a little differently. This is the kind of clay that is best for young beginners and children. It is good for simple sculpture. If you are making jewelry or more advanced sculpture, this is not the right clay for you. If you are looking to explore poly clay and are looking for something affordable that gives you a lot of clay to learn on, this is the clay for you.For me, this clay is a little too soft right out of the package. I wrapped my conditioned clay in printer paper and let it sit for a few hours (longer than necessary) which helped remove a lot of the excess oil that was making the clay feel too soft. I was able to get the clay to a good enough consistency to test it with clay cutters and it worked pretty good. The clay worked best for me as a sculpting clay but it will do jewelry reasonably well. It is a little more brittle than you would normally use for jewelry. though.Overall, I like this as clay as a more affordable alternative to original Scupley. I would recommend it to beginners and children.
